Simple question. I would. I know it will never happen as the shootouts gets fans out of their seats. But bring back ties.
/threadTies are awful, shootouts are slightly better.
I miss the days of the 20 minutes overtime period
This. And the player who scores the shootout winner should get a goal added to the statistics. It doesn't make any sense having no player with the GWG on a bunch of games.3 point system
3pts regulation win
2pts ot win
1pt ot/shootout loss

5 minutes of 4 on 4, followed by 10 minutes of 3 on 3.
No, before the lockout which brought the shootout, the OT period was a 20 minutes 5 on 5 period. If no goal was scored, the game was a tie. That's what I miss.Do you mean the playoffs?

All better options then a shoot outFollowed by 15 minutes of 2 on 2.
Followed by 20 minutes of 1 on 1.
Followed by 30 minutes of just the goalies.
Only time that’s happened is in sudden death playoffs, never in regular season history.I miss the days of the 20 minutes overtime period
That's still the case. Plenty of games still end in a low-scoring tie. The only difference is we now get an extra staged competition designed to give one team the W, along with an added point.I feel the people who voted to bring back a tie have never sat through many 1-1 or 0-0 games.
