People who watch him skate, will never say he is slow. He's a north south skater with good speed, perhaps they are saying he is not a good lateral, east west skater. This would be true also.

Lazar is going to be a real valuable player in the NHL. A leader, 2 way ability, trustworthy fwd you can spot anywhere in the line up. Hard to believe he was picked only 4 spots ahead of Gauthier.

Maybe his uncle Teemu taught him some magic (they showed a picture of Selanne holding Max after he was born during the first period, Tie and Teemu are good friends apparently from their Winnipeg days)

Thought Gauthier looked fantastic today. Did everything you could've asked for -- threw his weight around, finished checks, made some nice tape-to-tape passes, and was really quick on his feet. He needs to work on his puck skills and his shot, but he was fun to watch tonight.

Agreed. Gauthier is steller... a defensive stud. The goofs chirping him for not putting up over a PPG in the Q are going to the eat their words. There is more to hockey than points.
