I feel bad for Dybala, all these inferior and almost washed up players getting to play ahead of him. Dybala has been million times better than Di Maria this season in Serie A, not to even mention Papu Gomez not being in the same ballpark for Sevilla.

But it's been the story of his career all the time, unfortunately.
He’s not a wide player and it’s his fault for pissing away his career in Juve. Wants to be famous and not a footballer.

That’s what happens when you can only play in the same position as the best player in the world.

Good managers and teams find a way to integrate the best players. Canada found a way to to play Lemieux alongside Gretzky in the Canada Cup 1987, for example.

Unfortunately Argentina has had bad/inadequate managers throughout Messi's international career. That's why he hasn't a World Cup or even two by now, despite his personal best efforts.

But nevertheless, Argentina should be way too good for Australia today.

Scaloni looks much better than anything they've had, especially seeing how quickly he adapts and changes players according to their form/play. But playing the ghost of Papu (amazing player up to 2020 or so) instead of Dybala is head scratching.

The Aussies are kind of pinning Argentina back with their set pieces

Argentina are idiots so far. There is no pace, urgency or creativity in their game. Australia can play this way all through the match, hoping for an odd set piece goal (header/free kick) or settling for the PK lottery.

Of course Argentina can change to their approach for a more positive one later in the match, but Scaloni hasn't exactly been a tactical genious previously in this regard.
