You just happened to comment both times someone said something remotely negative about his play, I see.

Somebody needs to take his own advice. No need for that language, keyboard warrior, enjoy the last of your christmas holidays before school starts up again. No need for that at all kid.

Maybe because both times I didn't agree with what they saw?

And I'm not a kid, I'm 12. Thats a preteen, not a kid.

And Im not meaning to sound as angry as I did I just think you were a bit quit to assume.

Dude. Again, I didn't watch the game, but.. the guys who are the hardest to play against are the scorers... Nuge, Huberdeau, Scheifele.

Random physical grinders who don't contribute any goals and are marginally better defensively aren't valuable at all.

Make the best two-way lines possible. That is all. And that includes Monahan.

For what it's worth, from what I've read re. the US game, Scheifele was pretty bad.

Canada was done in by their so-called skilled players. RNH had to do it all by himself since the likes of Strome, Scheifele and Huberdeau were all garbage. Hamilton, the so called best junior d-man in the world looked like utter shyte throughout the tournament as well.

I still think Canada shouldn't even bother sending grinders or defensive specialists in this thing. Load up with scorers, no other team in the world could keep up with 4 lines of Canadian skill imo.

I saw 2 plays where Vikstrand coughed up the puck, due to a heavy 2 man forecheck. The thing is he didn't panic, or throw the puck away, and I'm pretty sure any defenceman in those same plays wouldn't of faired much better.

When Yak kinda beat Vikstrand and came from behind the net and tried to stuff it in, Vikstrand did a great job tying up his stick on the rebound, which frustrated Yakapov. Actually Yakapov was pissed all game due to Vikstrand.

This guy looks silky smooth out there, and I'm sure he'll be a pro one day if he keeps developing.

Not only is Schiefele not that good, he's the biggest whiner in the OHL.

He'll mature.

I love Scheifele's game. I can't comment on the WJC's because I haven't seen 1 game but from what I've seen in the OHL he's going to be an unreal 2 way centre. Could see him being a 30-30 guy with great defensive awareness.

I can't be the only one that doesn't see anything special with Strome and Schiefle game, they will be good players but max out as 2nd liners, I don't see the star potential and hype they have been getting since being drafted.

To me Scheifele has always been a fantastic 2nd line kind of player. Not too many people have I seen expecting him to be more. He'll probably be a below average #1c but his skillset has always been that of a #2C kind of like a Bergeron.

Most NYI fans only expect a 2nd liner out of Strome.

was about to post here about team canada and the coaches, but AJ is summing it up PERFECTLY right now on 1200. (he's going on ryan murphy now:laugh:)

basically Kevin Prendergast and Steve Spott, suck this!

Just listened to AJ's assessment...he nailed it.

Steve Spott should have been fired the minute he named Ryan Murphy on the team.

Monahan and Ceci should have been playing.

I thought Scheifele played decently in the tournament.

Playing out of position, took a beating in front of the net and in other hard areas.

Hockey sense maybe not 100% yet, but he's got some upside. Maybe not ready for the NHL, but Jets will probably rush him into their lineup.

I seriously don't understand the hype for Scheifele he was one of Canada's most underwhelming players. I saw every game. He was the worst, top player, on the team. If you get what I mean. He had no flow at all, could do NOTHING offensively and was embarrassing to watch every time he dove. I see absolutely nothing special in his game and guys like Jenner looked more effective. He actually ruined plenty of great plays by Hubs and Nuge.

I see he was playing out of position in the tournament. He's a natural centreman. Hubs, Scheifele and RNH all like to have the puck on their sticks. Some guys don't shift positions well. Look at when we tried Fisher on the wing.

Watch him play his natural position and you'll know why he's highly regarded.

Also this is a huge reason I hate this tournament. People put way to much stock into a small sample size like you're doing right here. Saying 'I dont get the hype' because he hasn't played great playing in a position he's unfamiliar with in a short tournament? Give me a break.

Loooool, you're assuming there buddy. I commented exclusively on the WJC's because you said you never watched any so I was telling you what you missed. I watched him play for the Colts in his games against Owen Sound and he looked good but didn't impress me enough, I wanted more and thought that he would do so in a line with top-end talent and he failed to do so. Possibly the positional change affected cause he did look better in the O during my viewings.
