Pretty impressed with what I've seen from Wikstrand thus far.

Good skater with smooth pivots and appears very confident with the puck. Crisp pass and has hit guys in full stride. Has used his body to separate players from the puck. Playing with confidence.

edit: some heady fakes on the blue line on the PP.

Looks like he tries his best to be OEL. First impression is I really can't complain about his effort to do so.

Sweden didn't use Hampus Lindholm on the PP in practices. Looks like Vikstrand will be their man on special teams.

Its only 1 period but he looks really really good, great patience, good hands, great reach with his size and QBs a power play nicely, just seems to always make the perfect play and reliable in his own net. That last play in the PK where he just uses his reach to get the puck out of the boards.

I think he's put on full display this game why he's doing what he's doing in the Allsvenskan so far. Certainly making a case early on that he's no fluke.

Our top 5 prospects are over 20 plus no luck with injuries, lockout and suspensions this year.

Noesen was a lock for the top 6
Zibby as well
Puempel got injured right before camp, he would have got the spot over Drouin.
