At a certain point the rankings don’t matter. Tbh they never really matter, but they definitely don’t matter once you start getting 80 ppl deep. They all have warts and it’s entirely subjective at that point- character is probably the biggest thing to look for on picks in this range, do they have any upside and do they have the personality/drive to maximize it? That’s stuff we don’t really have much insight on- the teams have far more of it than we do from scouting and interviews

Let’s be clear here. 127th ranked NORTH AMERICAN skater. Smartest guys in the room once again. I’d rather people just throw darts at a draft board, and draft that way. Over 20 publications of scouting reports and draft rankings, and NOBODY, not ONE, had him ranked. And they took him in the THIRD round. If you wanted him so badly, take him 3 rounds later. He’d still be there.
