I'm not sure of the details in this specific case, but in general visa/immigration issues get more complicated once money starts changing hands. Making the jump from amateur to pro could involve some new hurdles.

I would imagine he is going from a Student Visa to a Work Visa, and he probably couldn't apply for the Work Visa until the contract was signed.

Wasn't on the mid term Central Scouting rankings, and 20 points in 50 USHL games(as a forward) hardly screems top prospect. Late round pick at best, probably undrafted.

Although it looks like a PP and that was some terrible PK coverage, loved the fact the Olofsson is willing to step up from the blueline so much. We could use that in Minnesota.
