They said it was under rotated but the fact that Alysa Liu attempted a triple axle which is the toughest jump in women's skating is incredible.
28 years ago, the triple axle was the jump you needed that guaranteed you would win the gold. To this day, only 4 women have successfully landed it at the Olympics. Alysa would have been the 5th.
Take a guess on who the first US woman to ever land the jump in competition was..
Tara won the gold at 15 so her comments really hit harder and highlights how ridiculous it is to now use that age to excuse doping.
Hearing Scott Hamilton commenting on her and her teammates then being over-scored on top of being allowed to skate gave me goosebumps. Scott Hamilton toes the company line all the time so to hear him be this blunt was powerful.
I love when karma bites people in the ass.
Women are laying an egg...just like the men did last night. Only difference is at least the women will go home with a medal.
It was on Olympic Ice which is on demand on peacock. it was the show on I believe the 15th.I didn't hear Hamilton's comments. I'll have to Google them.
Karma is the cheating, doping and the harm this did to all the clean skaters as a whole.Tough to watch that and think "karma" took care of things. She's 15, almost certainly had no idea what they were pumping into her body, and she ws the one who had to go out there and have the whole world rooting against her.
Meanwhile, Russia still gets to take home gold and silver. If anything what just happened made the whole thing so much worse. She's just a kid. No kid deserves any of this.
This all goes back to the IOC kissing Putin's ass and letting Russia off easy for something that should have led to a lengthy ban on competing.
This is just about the worst thing (involving actual competition) I've ever seen at the Olympics. Just a terrible situation right now for everyone.
