Honestly, the couple days after that happened were super busy for me and I wasn't very plugged in, here or on any other hockey social media or on tv. So I'm largely unaware of exactly how hyped this got and I may be misreading the responses to that hype.
I certainly don't think it'll revolutionize the game, and I agree that the defense has to be a bit porous there (meaning it certainly wouldn't work in any situation). But I think Zegras should be commended for the creativity there (which is the aspect of it that is most exciting to me, in terms of how it may "affect" the game), and for recognizing that there was an opening. We've seen guys try the Michigan goal and utterly fail because the opening wasn't there, so I think when guys apply this kinda skill and creativity, and recognize when it can succeed and then execute it... it's pretty special. Being the first one to do adds some pizazz as well of course.
It's something that can be easily overhyped though, to be sure.
