Kinda weird but I guess I'll take it at a reasonable price.

Don't get the reasoning though. Hopefully they're working on the others like crazy.

I see it being similar to Kindl's deal, under a million per year anyway.

If under $1 million, I'd be happy. Worst comes to worst, we know he can be a #7 guy at least. I think he'll turn into a good 3rd pairing defensemen, potentially a #4 guy. Over $1 million, I'd say it's too soon to sign him.

Does this mean they see him as a keeper this season? If so who are the 2 odd men out?

Good question. I still think Kindl will get traded but I don't know what they will do once Colaiacovo gets healthy (I'm so glad I learned how to spell that).

I think the depth chart is probably:

Kronwall
Ericsson
Smith
White
Quincey
Lashoff
Kindl/Huskins

And I have no idea where they fit Colaiacovo in.

And where do potential UFA pickups and/or Dekeyser fit?

I'd say Kindl is traded soon, Huskins is let go, White isn't offered a contract and a guy like Dekeyser is brought in.

I wouldn't mind an upgrade over Quincey being brought in, either.

We better not let White go...

Kronwall
Ericsson
-----
-----
White
Smith

The rest are interchangeable, but don't mess with those 4. Just fill the gap between E and White. (pun intended?)

If they don't intend to keep White they better move him at the deadline imo.

As long as Lashoff is on our top 6 and on the PK, this team goes nowhere.

Ida about Quincey he really hasn't proven anything positive. I realize Huskins isn't flashy but he blocks shots and is a career + but I can deal with losing him. However I think White is too much of an asset to lose.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind them keeping him and trading Quincey.

But as of now we have a defensive log jam if/when everybody gets healthy. Of course, CC may never be truly healthy and that point is moot.
