im not 100 percent sure on the others, but austin brimmer is no longer on the teams protected list.

you dont, they are not public. i have a friend in the organization who told me brimmer isnt on windsors anymore.

Teams don't release them, it's only a (semi) educated guess based on who's been to camp in the past, signed players, draft year and pedigree when it comes to flyer picks. Once the training camp roster comes out this list will likely change even more as the team makes room for new players at next year's draft.
Most teams will keep players from their past two drafts plus flyer picks on their protected lists. If they have an abundance of players then they start removing them either by trade or releasing them based on how realistic a player's chances are of making the team.
I've always thought the U18 draftees were kept on a separate list which is why I have more than 50 players total but I could very well be mistaken.

I'd be disappointed if Brimmer doesn't come to camp but, at this point, if you're not an 02 0r 03, chances are slim.
he had 8 goals in 56 games in jr a, thats low for that level at his age. trying to be respectful to the kid, but hes been released for a reason.
for reference frasca was a year younger in jr b and had more points, goals, et al and even he struggled (but i think hell be a very good 3rd c)
They have to sign another forward or two don't they? They can't be left with Zito as a 13th forward when he should be in LaSalle and if injuries happen?

I just came across a clip from late 2018 with Brimmer and another Jr A player. Sounds like Brimmer took a bit longer to adjust to the transition from midget to Jr A. When I heard his answer, I went "okay, that makes sense." If he's not adjusted to that, the OHL is unlikely.

Why should Zito be in LaSalle? Better yet what makes you think that? I personally think he can play at OHL level.

I would be surprised if he wasn't given a long look, being a 2nd rounder and all.
On the roster page, there are 22 players listed, incl. goaltenders. We know there are 45 coming to camp (per the team). I doubt all 23 players coming in, that aren't listed, are believing they don't have a shot.

I've got 52 players from the roster and various drafts.
23 signed players that will be here.
Of the 10 remaining 03s I would guess 6 show up.
Of the remaining 02s another I would guess 6 show up.
Maybe 2 of the U18s show up.
Probably 3 non local FAs.
Probably 5 local FAs.
Just speculation but I could see a breakdown of attendees along those lines.
At this point I think most are just waiting to see who shows up and what the intentions of the org are. I think many have hopes he is here and gets a shot.
16 year old that's behind Douglas/Egor/D'Amico/Boka/Purboo/Angle/Foudy/Cuylle. We are talking 4th line time and based on past Letowski teams 4th liners get played sparingly. Let him play more in LaSalle.

Re Zito v. Lemmer - You could sign both, have Zito play in LaSalle until the deadline, then call him up if you deal a veteran. IF Zito has a good camp, then all bets are off.

Projections for training camp... I get 22-23 as potential pieces of the roster which leaves us roughly 20 spots for invitees hoping to crack the roster. Normally, all things being equal, 6 goalies get invited ( this year I’m guessing 5).
At this point we have only 3 O/A. I expect to see at least 2 O/A invited to try out. I could see a team with extra O/A giving us a call to check out a player conditionally. (We’ve done it ourselves).
A lot of invites will get sent out and a lot will get declined. We always end up with a couple no-shows due to injury.
I’ll be very surprised if the Parekh brothers show.
In the end my guess is 42-43 make up the camp roster.
Guessing only a couple of the committed players will show for 48 hours...perhaps Evans, Straky & Kelly.

I’ll be very surprised if the Parekh brothers show.
In the end my guess is 42-43 make up the camp roster.
Guessing only a couple of the committed players will show for 48 hours...perhaps Evans, Straky & Kelly.

Normally we get something from Jim “Peter” Parker via twitter on Friday night just ahead of the Saturday morning paper. However things are changing what with the new ownership.
