The good news for the Panthers is that they're tied in points% with the Caps in the month of Feb. The bad news is that only Detroit has a worse points% in Feb than Washington and Florida(pending results in Ottawa tonight).

Time to change this thread title to “Will the Panthers, Canes, Blue Jackets, and Isles let the Leafs make the playoffs?” All four of those teams have been garbage.

Leafs will be 1st in the division soon
What? Lol ridiculous

The title of this thread discredits the hard work and character the Leafs have shown after losing two top 6 forwards and their 2 best defencemen.

So much trolling allowed on this forum. People wonder like the dude above exist.

It isn't over yet Florida can make it close aga tomorrow.

The Leafs do have the 3 California teams coming up so they do have an oppourunity to take full control of that spot but thy haven't yet

Thing is that the Leafs are as likely to beat the 1987 Oilers as they are to losing to the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers - in a hockey game.

I'd be surprised. The Panthers are playing like they don't care at all about the playoff s. The Leafs are playing like they want it more.

I think Florida made of a couple bad deals and it has cost them.

As minor as the Marchment for Malgain deal was you can't give up an NHL forward for an AHL forward and expect to be better and you also can't trade q top 6 center on a good contract for pieces and expect to be better.

That's not how it works

That's not it. Florida has been playing like this since the All Star break. Even before that, near the end of their 6 game win streak, they weren't playing that well. They haven't really been playing consistently well since November, and even then it wasn't that great.

Malgin is nothing. You guys scratched him in the game against us and dressed 7 D instead. He was a regular scratch in Florida. Trocheck has done nothing in Carolina so far.

It isn't over yet, but Leafs definitely look like they have the upper hand. Still, Florida has a game in hand and if they win against Calgary tomorrow (a very winnable game) then they are merely 3 points back of Toronto, by no means a fatal deficit.

Yeah but the Leafs are playing with Muzzin, Rielly and Ceci out. You would assume when they get at least Muzzin and Rielly back, they'd be better. The Panthers are losing ground on a weak defensive team with 2, arguably 3 of their top 4 D injured.

You would assume the Leafs would be better with their #1 & #2 D-man back.

To be fair they pretty much HAD to dress 7 D there wasn't really a choice

Well it looks like it will be either the Leafs or the Lightning out in the first round again

I don't see Freddy being able to shut it down against Tampa but hey who would have predicted the Jackets whipping the Lightning last year 4 straight?

The decision was pretty easy, plus Malgin was the 12th forward in Keefe's mind obviously. And that's with you guys having several forwards out. Malgin would still be healthy scratched in Florida. He wouldn't be playing over Saarela or Toninato right now. And especially not when Boyle comes back. Malgin is a big pile of nothing dude.

bashed? The last two series went to 7 games and were both one goal games headed into the third period. But I get it people love to spread a fake narrative to support their agenda. The only team thats been “bashed” by Boston was Vancouver in game 7.

We may have been beaten in series once, but, you guys? Three times, and one was a total blow. 3-1 series lead, Boston ties it at 3. Game 7 with Toronto having a 4-1 lead, then the typical Toronto special attack comes in, blowing the lead, and then allowing that goal in OT. Nice job, Toronto!
