Florida is just awful these days. 2-6-0 since their bye week and with the Habs, Sens, Sabres and Wings out of the playoff picture, they are the only threat to steal the 3rd place in the Atlantic from Toronto.

Didn't the Avalanche lose 65 games like 3 years ago? Mocking a 2-6 stretch? Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Short of injuries to their most important players (Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Rielly, and Andersen), Toronto is going to get in. They have way too much offensive firepower.

Florida is more of a threat for a WC spot (four team race for 2 spots- CBJ, PHI, FLA, CAR) than Toronto's 3rd spot in the Atlantic. IMO.

And funny enough, 4/5 of those names you listed have been injured for stretches this season, yet they are still scratching and clawing.

We haven't seen a healthy Leaf team yet this season and now all four of Rielly, Johnsson, Ceci and Mikheyev are out long-term. Going to be a tight race.

I think WC2 will have more points than the Leafs at the end of the season but the Leafs will get in because, well, Florida.

Will the Florida Panthers continue to do what they always do and underachieve and miss the playoffs? Most likely.

Maybe Quennville rights the ship though.

Matthews (knock on wood) is the only player on that list that hasnt missed any games, the rest have missed an extended period of time.

No one else is good enough in the division and Florida can’t do **** when it matters, Bobrovsky stinks.
Toronto will make the playoffs in a walk even if they don’t have a good record

Atlantic sucks

You do realize the Leafs are 1 point back of Vancouver for the lead in the Pacific?

Says the man who’s team leads their division with one more point than the Leafs. I think we’re just seeing more parity in general these days.

We don’t have Ottawa/Buffalo/Detroit all in one

How do the Avs being a laughable embarrassment a few years ago preclude someone from pointing out another club having a rough stretch of games?

Also, what on earth does your second sentence mean? If @Balthazar doesn't remember and acknowledge in every single post what a joke the Avs were a few years ago he is going to go on a losing streak...? He is going to cause the Avs to go on a losing streak...? What?
