Borgen scored an assist off a dump-in carrom, as Milano lifted the defender's stick and one-timed it home for GF3 in USA's 4-0 win:

Pretty nifty play by Milano there. Looks like Borgen has survived the first round of cuts:

Max Marko @MarkoFznFutures - @mikemorrealeNHL - Do you think Borgen makes the team?

Mike Morreale ‏@mikemorrealeNHL - As I said numerous times while in BOS at camp, I was so impressed with Borgen and the poise, ability he showed.

USA Hockey is expected to make two more cuts by December 24 before the start of the tournament two days later vs Canada.

LaxSabre - Will Borgan is on the second defense pairing with Louie Belpedio - a Minnesota Wild prospect who plays for the University Of Miami, Ohio.

@SabresProspects - Curious if those that gave Borgen no shot of making the team have changed their tune. He looked good Friday paired with Belpedio (MIN).
Borgen takes a roughing minor in the first period vs Finland. He has that abrasive side to him.

@USAHockeyScores - Puck's dropped and we're underway in Lahti, Finland. United States faces Finland in final exhibition game before 2016 @iihf_wjc

@USAHockeyScores - Borgen whistled for roughing. USA goes on the penalty kill at 8:51.
Schmaltz with a takeaway inside the blue line to eliminate Finland's last chance on the power play. Teams back to even strength #USAWJC.

@USAHockeyScores - GOAL! Loose puck in front gets flipped over the goalie and USA has the 1-0 lead. One minute left in the first period.
Christian Dvorak credited with the goal and Sonny Milano is given the assist.

LaxSabre - United States trails 2-1 after the second period - Finland scores two goals in the second period - one of them shorthanded.

@USAHockeyScores - GOAL!! USA levels the score - 2-2. Line of Milano-Dvorak-White produce yet again.
Sonny Milano is credited with the goal - giving him 3 goals and 2 assists in two exhibition games.

@USAHockeyScores - GOAL!!! USA takes the lead! DeBrincat taps home a pass from Tkachuk and it's 3-2 USA with 8:04 left in the third period.
Matthews credited with the secondary assist on DeBrincat's go-ahead goal.

@USAHockeyScores - Final - USA 3 Finland 2. Dvorak - Milano - DeBrincat each score in the win!

Nice goal by Laine, right in a soft coverage spot as we would expect a scorer to set up.
With the obstructed view, it's hard to tell if Boesser had a stick or bounce play into that cheap giveaway after the Borgen exit pass. That quickly turned into Puljujarvi as the F1 in on that forecheck too, so both of the top 2016 Finns were in on that play.

Looks like Borgen made the team:
Final 2016 U.S. National Junior Team Announced

USA Hockey today announced the final 22-player roster for the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship.

“We're looking forward to getting the tournament underway," said Jim Johannson, general manager of the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team and also the assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. “Because of the depth we have now, getting to a final roster is always difficult. We're excited about the team we'll put on the ice in Finland and believe in every one of these individuals to not only play the style our coaching staff expects but to also represent our nation proudly."

The USA Roster shows Borgen as one of 7 defensemen along with Louie Belpedio, Brandon Carlo, Brandon Fortunato, Chad Krys, Charlie McAvoy, and Zach Werenski.

What has he done? Has he played? I've not seen any games.

He's played and he's been a nice defensive defenseman, making a quality pair with Belpedio. Very much a KISS style out there and that's fine with me.

Through four games of group play, Team USA has only allowed 4 GA and Borgen was only on-ice for one of those. That came in the fourth game vs DEN and Belpedio made the giveaway there that resulted in the scoring chance anyway. He finished the preliminary round +2 with 1 A and 5 SOG.

Yeah his one goal against came from his partner turning it over. He's been rock solid.

Not only that, Belpedio made the long pass that got picked up from his corner to cross-ice away from his bench while Fortunato was changing for Borgen. Borgen was just stepping off the bench when the turnover happened and still very nearly got back to block the shot.

One of the other GA happened when Wilson broke up Belpedio-Borgen and replaced Borgen with Fortunato. The former has good chemistry and shuts opponents down, and the latter is clownshoes. I don't know why he keeps doing it but he better not try that against Czech, they have some talent in Zacha, Pastrnak and Spacek.

Down the road Borgen might turn into what Murray hoped he was trading for in Bogosian, a 4/5 type in a shutdown role with a physical edge.

He finished the preliminary round +2 with 1 A and 5 SOG.

The one assist was on the GWG against Canada too, IIRC

That offseason injury really affected Bogo.

That trade was for the intent of Bogosian to be a top guy. Hope he gets his game back.
