From NBC Sports...

Commissioner Gary Bettman was in Minnesota last week and admitted the league had visited potential venues for an outdoor game to be hosted by the Wild.

According to a report from The Canadian Press on Tuesday, the NHL is planning on having somewhere between two and six outdoor games next season.

This season has just two outdoor games down from the six in 2013-14.

Why not Winter Classic? Like, really? If they are looking at Minnesota to host an outdoor game, and the WC is still up in the air, I have no idea why they wouldn't just give it to us.

Only reason is probably ratings/money for bigger teams.

My guess is they want bigger markets and Star Players involved in the Winter Classic.

We're a medium media market, and no flashy players.

Ah, I misread.

Well, I still think Wild vs. Avs would be better than any other team they would put us against. Seeing as the Jets are gonna host a Heritage Classic. Who else is there really? Chicago? They've got too many outdoor games already. Dallas? Maybe.

Now that they're not doing an HBO 24/7 any more for the winter classic I could not care less about the difference between stadium series and WC.

Yeah to be honest the 24/7 was 95% of the reason I wanted a Winter Classic

But I'd still much prefer a WC over a Stadium Series.

It'll be at TCF I assume?

Epix is 100% uncensored

You get to hear the curses and etc. The beauty is Epix has deals with Netflix, maybe somewhere in the future 24/7 can be put on netflix.

meh i'm just happy to get something. I will be there.

What venue would it be at? Target Field, TCF, or elsewhere? My guess is that TCF has the best sight-lines.

And who will our opponent be? Dallas? Chicago? Vancouver?

My guesses would be Target Field and Dallas.

TCF has better sightlines, but Target Field is a Pro-Stadium and it's amenities are Pro-caliber.

TCF has wide concourses, but the fact that a single concourse serves both upper and lower levels puts that width to waste.

And the Jets have........who? But they get to have the WC?

Heritage Classic is not the Winter Classic.

The Heritage Classic is an all Canadian team outdoor "classic".

The first one was back in '03 between the Oilers and Habs in Edmonton. The 2nd was in Calgary in '11 between the Flames and Habs, the 3rd was in Vancouver in '14 vs the Senators.

Further proof that a long afternoon/evening of shopping has turned my brain to complete mush. Can't believe I missed that.
