Please m

Just put Slepy in for Hendricks and we're fine. Wouldn't really put RNH with McDavid and have Caggiula centre his own line, I don't think that's a good idea...

Larsson had 16 minutes TOI tonight, was he hurt or what?

Not hurt. Just not overly effective during this losing streak. He's still the 2nd best Oilers d-man right now, but thats mostly because Russell and Klefbom are both playing like garbage lately. Thank god we've got Sekera. Seems to be the only d-man on the team who you can count on to not have multi-game poor stretches of play.

Overworked? They play 20 minutes a night and Larsson sees no PP time. They are far from overworked, they just stink right now and Klefbom has stunk most of the year. Russell is starting to get exposed as well. Sekera has been their best Dman by far as of late and surprisingly, Benning has been pretty good. They are missing Nurse right now and his ability to play one on one and give the team energy.

Agree with this entirely. Starting to get worried about Klefbom, he seems to be regressing in every aspect of his game at the moment. Seems to have trouble containing guys when they go wide on him especially. Nurse wasn't exceptional by any means, but there were more nights where he looked like one of the better defensive players on the team than the worst. What's the timeline on his injury?

Actually though, Sekera's been so good this entire season. Smart and dependable play. He's what I thought Larsson would be like but clearly not there yet.

Just because McDavid didn't get a point, doesn't mean he played poorly.

Other than a poorly timed penalty and a terrible give away he played fine. But the two mistakes had a negative outcome on the game for the Oilers.

It's not a big deal, even the best players **** up once in a while.

Pens made the playoffs that year, right?

Edit: I see they did indeed make the playoffs with 105pts, 5th in the east.

Just because McDavid didn't get a point, doesn't mean he played poorly.

If you think it's just because he didn't have a point you weren't watching the game. Brutal give away that led directly to the 2nd wild goal and a bad penalty in overtime. Don't get me wrong, he's only 19, mistakes will happen and that's okay. But tonight was a bad game for mcdavid.

Garbage team is garbage.

If you just accept the suck into your heart it will make you feel so much better. You know, you'll go from blaming them all the time and being frustrated, to blessing their little hearts when they do well. Clearly it's still a team with huge problems that are still being ironed out. No playoffs in my books anymore this season, I'm okay with it...what else can you do? At least Connor is fun to watch, and Drai, and the defence looks better. They just always fool you a little but then go on their yearly nosedive.

I've been thinking about it and end of the day a point in Minny is an acceptable result.

But every other result on this road trip isn't. Connor said post game in Philly that the team is still learning to win and close out games. This is true. Very painful to watch some games.

San Jose has 3 games in hand. Anaheim has 2. The Oilers need to get it together and need a 3 game win streak. Desperately need if they want to keep in a playoff position. Though they are doing better than years prior.

Oh. Hendricks is basically done. He did too many fly bys. If he isn't even hitting, get out. His "veteran presence" isn't enough to justify playing. They clearly still collapse with him on the bench. Sucks, but he has been replaced.

I agree, but I don't think that is in the plans. Hopefully we release him for the WJC and re-evaluate what we should do with him when he returns.

That would be great imo. Let him go get some confidence and have some fun with the FIN U20 team.

Is there any indication they will though? I already heard that the Finns didn't even bother asking because they know he won't be released.

Poolparty needs to get sent down tbh.

I read somewhere that because of his age he couldn't be sent to AHL without offering him to FEL first, although I've got no idea if that's true. I don't think that would affect anything in practice, though.

He had several good games a while ago, but they kept sending him from line to line and benching him anyway. Not the best way to develop a young player IMO. His 5on5 PPG/60 minutes is still the 4th of the team (roughly the same as Matthew's and Laine's) so I'm surprised he's only allowed some spare minutes here and there.

Is it safe to say RNH is a bust for a first overall pick?

He hasn't been great, but that seems a bit harsh. The only other player from the 2011 draft any team takes over him at this point consistently is Landeskog. Or if you have the ability to predict the future, Saad or Gaudreau. Really **** draft.

I haven't been a big fan of Nuge for a while and even I wouldn't say he's a bust unless you mean specifically as a first overall pick. Hindsight is 20/20.

Not a bust but definitely someone you'd have second thoughts drafting 1st overall. Yakupov is a bust in the complete sense IMO
