Moen has decent top speed imo
yeah I agree...
he is fast on the backcheck and forecheck
Moen has decent top speed imo
Markov is the slowest but by no means is it a detriment to his game, he is also probably the smartest guy out there. It would be a definte asset if he was faster but it does not affect his ability to be a good d man.
Moen has bad acceleration, but good speed though.
Slowest ? Maybe a tie between Armstrong and Markov ?
From what I've seen the past weeks or so is Markov being our slowest player outside of maybe Kaberle except Kabe isn't hurting us from the pressbox. I dunno if he's out of gas already or if his legs just aren't what they once we're but I've witnessed a number of times Markov losing the one on one foot races out there and now that he's not putting up the points he was at the beginning of the year it is a little concerning. Although he is known to play well in the playoffs is he not? Hopefully he'll bounce back
I felt actually that it was a HUGE detriment to his games lately, even on the PP. He's been beaten badly multiple times at 5v5, and in the last game against the Islanders I remember a time on the PP where the puck exited the zone about 2 meters from him because he couldn't skate to stop it, ANY other d-man in the team would've caught that puck.
He looks at times like he's not even trying to get to places anymore because he has a hard time skating there. Skating just looks like a serious effort, and I think it's affecting his overall play a lot, and it worsened significantly as the season progressed. There's a reason why he was so efficient in the beginning of the season and it decreased gradually, it's not because he lost his brain power...
Maybe he just had a few bad games, He had some great games to start the season which helped us get off to such a good start. Players have lapses and others need to step up, thats normal. I hope he stays healthy, we are a much better team with him in the lineup.
How is Desharnais one of the slowest ? he's a top 3 in the team for sure.
To be honest he looks like he might be turning into more of a pp specialist as his skating really does look terrible.
If this is the case maybe we will see MT decrease his ice time, PK is more than capable, maybe 15-18 minutes would be more suited to the new old Markov.

I'd rather
Gorges-Subban
Markov-Diaz
Bouillon-Emelin
Markov is easily our slowest player, and its actually really effecting his play lately.
Yes, his skating seems to get worse every game. I can't imagine thatI felt actually that it was a HUGE detriment to his games lately, even on the PP. Lol I'm surprised only me and some other guy voted for White... I'm not surprised that Armstrong and Markov are the two leaders in the poll, Armstrong doesn't have a flashy style of skating which makes him look really slow but White is still slower imo. Markov has lost a lot of speed from sitting in the last 2 and a half years and having his knee reconstructed twice. As for those saying it's Moen, you guys have to pay more attention to the games... Moen has tremendous top speed for a guy of his role and his size, he surprises a lot of defenseman by rushing down the wing after dumping it in the corner. It's not Chimera speed but it's pretty damn fast.
Yes putting down other posters and pumping own tires is how you win an argument.
