If the Rangers continue their crappy play which major piece gets moved first? Or do you think Sather keeps the major core players together?

No one.

Pyatt or Pouloit is next. Both are gone after this year anyway. One gets scratched the other gets cut.

Zucc hasn't scored points but he's created chances which earns him a little bit more time. If he can't produce when there is more talent though he'll be scratched too.

A couple more games without points, and Zucc goes on waivers. Just my opinion.

I disagree. With Asham down, we need a player like Dorsett in our lineup. Right now, it's easy to say, "this guy needs to go." but if we start playing better, we'll need somebody like that. Yes, he needs to not take dumb penalties. But he's not a complete waste out there. He forechecks, he sticks up for his teammates, and he's not a pushover. He can be valuable, but he needs to stop taking idiotic penalties. When we start playing well and then lose games because of him, I'll agree that it's time to dump him.

Dorsett has not proven he can hold back on taking bad penalties. Dorsett needs to be in Asham's role that he should be a 12/13th forward goes in matchup wise for toughness. I do not think he is reliable enough to play all 82 games for a playoff team.

Yeah and on top of that he's got more goals than Zucc, Brassard, Nash, Stepan, Boyle, Pouliot, and Fast combined.....

I'm just joking about his goal scoring as a reason to keep him around, BUT in reality this team has a lot more problems than Dorsett... even though yes, he has been running around like an idiot.

This team is too soft on the bottom lines, he has to stay....but has to learn to reign it in a bit.

How about we score some goals??

Unfairly it will be zuc. He will be the scape goat

This is much better than the comment above it.

MZA needs to be with players that can finish and he is a specialist on the PP and Shoot-outs. When he has to pick up a big share of the scoring load he suffers tremendously.

The problem is, he's not a center. So while it's great he can pass, I need my wingers to be able to score. We have two good passing centers. So when he plays on 1st or the 2nd line with them, he's playing with another passer/non-shooter. And he doesn't fit on the 3rd line either. imo.

Agree. I only like MZA as an extra forward for matchups, similar to Dorsett. Just don't think he is good enough.

Another invisible game from Zucc. Will he be able to turn this around, or is he close to being waived? Everything he showed in the playoffs this spring is gone. His game is just awful.

I don't think Zucc is going to pan out in this system because he's not that strong of a skater or shooter. On the wings, you need at least one of those things (hopefully both).

Personally, I'm not sure how Girardi fits in this system (even though he played great tonight). Same goes for Boyle and Pyatt (which is kind of weird considering that his best seasons were for the same coach). Boyle could work as a faceoff winning 4th line C but Moore is good at that and Boyle has more value to other teams. I'm also not huge on Pouliot's game through this point in the season even though one would assume that he was brought in to play this style of hockey. Dorsett is best suited on a grind it out team, he has not shown that he has the brain for Vigneault hockey.

Not everyone fits and a handful of the names mentioned are good enough hockey players to provide value in any system. I think we'll get a boost for free when Hagelin comes back, his skating and puck possession behind the net will be invaluable. Hopefully Kreider gets some confidence, he's another name that could work out at some point.

I'm not advocating trading anyone quite yet but I wouldn't be surprised if MZA, Boyle, Girardi, etc. don't click.

Hopefully it's Pouloit first. Think Pyatt gets pass for entirety of season.

Hags back should see us waiving Benoit. Nash will likely yield the end of Miller or Fast. If both Benoit and Pyatt get passes I will lose my ****.

A little birdie told me that the Rangers are doing some serious tire kicking on Dustin Byfuglien. Winnipeg is a mess. There could be a match here.

yuck, no thanks. I just don't think he fits our team concept very well.

Go get me Evander Kane.

Besides, Byuf has way too high of a cap hit...and we gotta re-sign quite a few guys this coming offseason.

Id be interested in trading Dan Girardi.

Love the guy, he's a damn good defenseman, but you have to wonder how many more miles the guy has on his body.

I feel like you could get a stud prospect for him, or more.

I'd just wait till McIlrath is really ready.

Granted, our depth falls off the face of the planet after that.

Apparently, Ray Shero was present in Washington for their game versus the Rangers. It could be nothing or it could be something. Usually GM's doesn't really go to other team's games, especially if your own team is not involved, so there might be a trade brewing here. Impossible to say if it's between Pens and Washington or Pens and Rangers though, but I'd guess the latter considering how we've been playing lately. It just seems to add up, with our play and the waiving of Biron and Asham, that a trade is in the makings. In total there were scouts from 15 different teams present at the Rangers - Washington game.
