Makes you realize how many amazing centers we have in the league when I feel like I left out 5 players.

40g, rookie of the year, NHL record 1st game, leads the league in ES goals since entering the league, 2nd behind OV in totals goals.

thats a bit different than a guy who hasnt even played a full year at the position

Scoring goals isn't everything. There are a few players on this list that are better than Matthews on D and others are good playmakers (Getzlaf).

Matthews is not in my top 10 until this year ends. He's off to a hot start and is easily making the case for him to be top 5, but as of right now these are my rankings for the start of the year.

If you're gonna base your argument off of goals alone then I don't know what to tell you.

Nope, I just view 10 of them better than Auston. As I've said, Auston is making a strong cast of being in the top 5, maybe top 3 but these are my rankings prior to the 18/19 season.

Where is Aho option? I`d take Aho ahead of Draisaitl, Tavares, Staal, Bäckström, Karlsson and Toews atleast...

When Aho puts up 70 points ONCE then maybe we can have a conversation about he being better than a center who's averaged 70 since he came into the league 10 years ago

... You have to add Sebastian Aho.

Or maybe you can watch him play and see how good he is right NOW, which is what this thread is about? It's not about career achievements.

I would add Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Eichel, Scheifele, Stamkos and potentially Barzal to that 4th tier as well but that's pretty much what mine would look like.
