Is there any way for a player from western canada to play in the OHL or Q?
How about an Ontario player moving to Dub or Q?
A player would have to clear waivers from his league before becoming eligible.
It happened with former Brandon Wheatkings goalie Jacob Deserres last fall when he was cut from the team as a 20 year old. He went unclaimed and was grabbed by the Saint John Sea Dogs and went on to be there starter in the Mem Cup.
Great pickup for Kelowna. Get a guy who can replace Barrie on the blueline for the next few years.
The Victoria Royals have made another deal, landing D-Man H. Rintoul from Kootenay, and a conditional bantam pick, for F D. McKinlay:

Sounds like a good move for both, as McKinlay is an NHL pick, Rintoul is what Marc is looking for with the loss of Manning.
We all know that Scherbak has been dealt to the Tips: whl.production.mrx.ca/article/blades-trade-scherbak-to-silvertips
Blazers get Winther from Calgary, nice upgrade for them, with Hay there looks like they are trying to be competitive and make the playoffs, as for the Hitmen, it's a bit puzzling considering this team was stacked and have just weakened themselves: whl.production.mrx.ca/article/blazers-acquire-winther-from-hitmen
Hitmen made another move by offloading Padakin to Regina, which isn't a surprise considering they had 3 imports: whl.production.mrx.ca/article/hitmen-trade-padakin-to-pats
Understatement of the decade. The Chiefs get forward Brooks from the Raiders, adding some leadership, but not scoring: http://whl.ca/article/chiefs-acquire-brooks-from-raiders
The T-Birds and Blades deal D-men, Blades certainly look to have gotten the better player here, as they add scoring and veteran leadership on the back end in Henry, T-Birds get unknown youth in Ottenbreit: http://whl.ca/article/thunderbirds-and-blades-make-trade
Blades were not done dealing on the back end, as they sent Nikkel to the Broncos for Bevan: http://whl.ca/article/blades-and-broncos-swap-defencemen
Portland are off to a bad start, so decided they needed to shake things up already by getting forward Koules from the Tigers: http://whl.ca/article/tigers-send-koules-to-winterhawks
