This should’ve been done in the offseason. There were still plenty of spots for rookies to take if the coaching staff wasn’t obsessed with Melker and Goodrow.

For 12 forward spots, they now have 48, 28, 39, 9, 19, 62, 20, and 12. That’s still 4 openings for young guys with upside.
