Nope if the league MVP Leon Draisaitl is a passenger as per the leafs fan base then that means one of Marner/Matthews is a plug. Your choice.

I never said drai was a passenger. He is really good.

No he isn't watch another team than the leafs.

I watch a bunch of other teams, including the teams those players are on, and the "eye test" also supports that Marner is better.

Boeser, Kaprisov, Cirelli, Meier and Samsonov are in the next tier with some others and I'm probably forgetting a few guys. Eichel is still 2, but Marner is close and there may be times we think Aho should be 2nd.

There is an argument to be made for Marner as the 2nd best player of the draft. But even if he edges Eichel out as 2nd best player, that wouldn't be enough to go 2nd overall. The gap would have to be very big for teams to take him over the prototypical franchise center. The majority of teams would take Eichel today, but a team stacked at C could take Marner.
