Last year had 14G and 61P in 82GP. The year before that also 14G and 60P.

In his first year of an 8x8 contract..

No they are not. Not sure what happened to his goal scoring ability, he used to be pretty decent at it.

I’ve been as hard on Johansen as anybody this year. For a guy that has had 33 goals in a season, it’s a joke how little he uses his shot.

He’s been really good lately though. Starting to get into playoff form.

He filled a hole in the team that had been empty for almost two decades. Who on earth gives a poop if he earns 1 or 2 millions more than forum consensus tells he is worth. We have our top 3 center combo locked with 18.1 mil for years to come.

He's lazy. That's why we tossed him for Jones... we knew his heart isn't always in it and paying him a ton would be a bad decision.

He wants to be a playmaker more then a goal scorer and it was infuriating along with his effort in his final Columbus days. I still question his effort throughout games but if he finds balance and plays the way he should he could be like 25 goal Getzlaf without the leadership. All the skill is there

He has a 100 goals in ~500 games. He was never much of a goalscorer to begin with. I don't think he's an elite centre but he gets the job done for Nashville.

He's a solid player, but he's a bit overrated and definitely overpaid in my opinion. I'm sure he will show up in the playoffs when it all counts.

I don't get the playoff beast line either. He was pretty good last year, but the year before that he had 8P in 14GP and was pretty invisible from what I recall. It was really only last year where I thought he was playing like a 1C (in the playoffs).

I also don't buy that he's some defensive beast. Not hard to look competent defensively playing in front of 4 #1D and Rinne.

If Forsberg and Johansen's caphits were exchanged it would look a lot better. Underpaying Forsberg and overpaying Johansen so I guess it evens out lol.

But he was like this before his injury.. He's shown to just be a 14G 60P player for the 2 years before his injury. Or has he been inured those years too lol.

It seems like even hitting 15G is an insurmountable task even when healthy. Is that really worth 8 million?
