What range of record would you require to consider hiring Nasreddine as HC?

What range would you keep Nas?

what record or range would you consider acceptable to then hire Nasreddine as next years HC?

Obviously other factors include scoring, defense, how young guys played, etc..

But lets keep it simple

Hynes coached 26 games. Nasreddine as of today before 2020 is 5-6-2 while trying to shake off remnants of Hynes’ terrible system (or lack thereof)

Id personally like to see .600 hockey or higher. So if we won 26 of our next 43, Id be overly impressed considering the circumstances

going without a single loss the rest of the season and winning the cup. TLDR, will not consider it.

edit: if shero wasn't so loyal to his HC, i'd consider it as "why not?" but he is...so I'd rather they hire the right person and Nas isn't it.

i think he has them playing good sound hockey as a team and as individuals.. I wouldn't make any assumptions at this point. but he will get a really good long interview.. wins like today can go a long way.. they have looked pretty good since he has taken over. even in defeat at least they looked ok at times..

I don't think I want him as the coach, but i'm softening on the idea of him remaining on as an assistant, I think he has some good ideas, communicates well and the players seem to be playing harder for him than they were for Hynes. It doesn't necessarily hurt to at least have some continuity coaching wise, Nas strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn't overstep his boundaries if he was 'relegated' back to being just an assistant.

I think Shero needs to go big or go home.

Throw as much as you can at Laviolette, Boudreau (he might not even be fired at this rate) or Cooper (probably going to Detroit) if one of them becomes available. I've never been a Boudreau fan, but I think he'd fit here. If all three of those guys (or even at least two of them) lose their jobs there's no reason to not come out with one of them. Especially Laviolette or Boudreau. Cooper to Detroit is almost a lock at this point, unless Tampa keeps him around. Tampa might also not want to lose him to Yzerman and Detroit or they might have already fired him.

Best case scenario is you retain Nasreddine as an assistant. That rarely happens, but let's be serious, he's probably not getting a head coaching gig anywhere in the NHL right now, if we don't keep him on. So why wouldn't he stay here if we relegate him back to the assistant role?

Eh, I'd give him a hard look if he ended up at least 12 games over .500. OT losses are losses.

I don't think that's going to happen. But I think most can see that Hynes was hardheaded didn't listen to anyone.

I guess it depends on who else is available. If there's no one that really jumps out, and the team plays well down the stretch, then you have to at least consider him.

I think some are underestimating how strong a .550-.600 pace would be

Thatd be 24-26 wins in our last 43 - a 96-100 point pace over an entire season

Considering the roster and battles hed have eliminating old Hynes’ habits - that would be mightily impressive IMO

I think saying playoffs or bust for Nasreddine is a bit unfair. However if he ended up not being the answer Id like him back as assistant coach.

If I had a vote (idk why I cant), itd be .500-.600!

5-4-1 since the change. That includes the Stars game which might not be fair to count as Hynes was fired only hours before.

4-2-1 since Hall was traded.
Naserdine has coached 13 games he's 5 -6-2 with a point percentage of .461 - He made his debut vs Vegas December 3rd - I'm note sure what you mean 5-4-1?

Honestly not sure why everyone is excited with the recent events...Sure they've played sightly better but the record is essentially continuation of Hynes.

Hynes had .487 point% here, Nas has a .461

Realistically if he can get the team above five hundred even if they missed the playoffs I think he’d earn a chance to be the head coach on more than an interim basis. The team really is in a bad position and the start really dropped this team into such a gigantic hole that I’d be impressed if we got above .500

Playoffs.

It would take a Lemaire-type run (but one that will end up in the playoffs and not come up short) for Nas to be re-signed.

I know that some have suggested that Shero may just be stubborn and re-sign Nas regardless but I am going to believe that Shero still has COMMON SENSE remaining in that big brain of his, and he will find a REAL Head Coach this offseason.

I have softened on Nas since the Hynes hell days.

I wasn't a fan prior, but i like his demeanor now that you see him game in, and game out.... and the results (intensity, consistency of play) are starting to look better.

The lockerroom looks a lot happier. Hall and Hynes were definite factors......to this seasons struggles from the gate...

If NJ, by some miracle make playoffs, you sure can bring him back! That would be Herculean 2nd half....worthy of a continued show....
