I think this will be my last manual. Been driving them almost exclusively since the mid 90's.
Same with me, except I go back to 1979 with MTs. Sadly, they're hard to find anymore. I came close to getting one of these (Chevy SS) but my practical side won out and I went for the Acura instead:

RWD Sedan with Corvette V8 engine and MT - sigh. Oh well, I saved a lot of money....

BTW, I won't be giving up the MTs. I'll either eventually swap out my car for like a WRX STI, or keep my car for bad weather and get a RWD car with an MT.

One of the more interesting sleeper cars I've driven. A high school friend of mine bought one-- and it stuck. Ford Contour SVT. The same team who did the SVT Lightning (dumb truck) and SVT Mustang. Did up the Contour. It was weird --but def turn some heads - and super fun to drive.

2012 Subaru Outback
Before that 2001 Subaru Forester

Bought at 2 different local dealerships
Both gave me a very good price up front with very minimal haggling.
Did not waste my time and no pressure.
The forester is still on the road (sold to a friend)
Love these cars.

2013 Acura SH-AWD w/6 speed. I bought it CPO three years ago with only 13k miles on it for a really good price and a great financing deal (the manual transmission is a necessity for me and probably a deal-breaker for a lot of other people :thumbu:).
tl?

2011 MB GL 450 purchased 1 year ago from Carvana; had 58,000 miles on it, spotless inside and out, had it verified via an MB dealership

I will never again for all the reasons OP states AND for the one he / she did not, work with a dealership again. #DumpTheDealer look at Carvana (you don't have to accept or use their financing and can likely get it better on your own)

Love it. I will have it for a year next month. They’re just expensive compared to the Ram and GM twins.
IF you don't mind, what does a monthly payment for an F-150 look like compared to what a monthly payment for a Ram?

Id have to sit in the backseat to drive one.

I've always loved the Mx5/Miata. Reardrive little coupey thing.

Can't fit in them either.

Yeah it's not the best for anyone tall. But, the car is surprisingly roomy inside. This is the 2nd Fit I've owned. I'm a fan. Though, I kind of do wish I got the Civic this time around.

On a lease? I know with the previous generation “Ram Classic” the difference was over $100/month because that thing is a death trap. With the new 2019 Ram I believe that gap has closed significantly. I leased my F150 at $6k under invoice so my payment doesn’t represent what an actual payment would be.

I forgot to mention that when we bought my wife's car years ago, a used 2011 Hyundai Sonata, we ended up going to a BMW dealer. We had shopped around a bit and every place we went to was worse than the last. The BMW deal was awesome because they just wanted to get the car out of their inventory so they sold it at a low price. Go to a high end car dealership to look at their used cars and you might find a sweet deal.

'07 Jeep Wrangler - found it on Craigslist in 2016 with 22.5K miles on it. The woman only drove it to and from the train station and listed it for $20K. Fortunately enough the car was located in Babylon around the block and it was mine within a few days. Just a shade under 40K miles on her right now.

My brother found an '07 GMC Canyon with 12K miles for $18K on Craigslist too. You can find some good cars on there if you are continuously searching.

Love that you've gotten 16 years out of your ride, but I love that photo of Roger the roo even more.

2008 Lexus IS 250 with almost 92K miles. Car has been great for almost 12 years now, but I'm looking to get an SUV in the near future.

2017 silver Ford f-150 xlt supercrew , bought it in dec of 2017 with 21k miles for $31k.... with a 96 month warranty... the brand new ones at the dealer were way too pricey ....my previous f150 was a 2000 lariat that had 262,000 miles on it and still running great , so wanted to keep it but it was time for an upgrade :)

A beat up 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 150K miles on it and IDK if it will last another year.

Currently browsing a variety of price ranges...

Mazda CX5 (probably most bang for buck)
Lincoln Nautilus
Chevy Blazer RS
Audi Q5
Audi E-Tron (super reach car)
