Turn your back, Stop filling up Molaon's pockets, I've now accepted the habs for what they are, a country club for a certain clique.

Well there only one thing to do, get wasted and wait for this thing to blow over.

This season is done with, and without Price. In fact the worse thing that could happen is a Price return that keep the team in the mediocrity zone (9th place). Shutdown Price let them fail, let sell the bad dead wood at the deadline for once. Let them be the worse team in the league, and let rig this freaking lottery so we win it. There will be a day a reckoning, make no mistake but we can wait for it.

Stay away from the games en masse. That is about the only real thing fans can do.

Apparently there's nothing we can do.

MB says he's trying but already did his best.

Says coaching staffs is competent and will not replaced any of them, at least for this season.

Says he believes in our players.

So basically we have to accept that we are the worst team without Price and we are an ok team with Price.

There won't be many trade because it's hard to make.

There won't be many signing of good players because they don't want to come here

So basically, the owner, the general manager, the coach are basically saying to the fans to "deal with it, that's how they roll, if we keep losing, we'll keep losing, at least we tried and we won't change a thing"
These things use to be unacceptable, but now........it is what it is........that's what long term extensions do, for people who maybe don't deserve them...

I got an idea.

The Impact is starting the season in March.
It would be fun to have more Fans at an Impact game than to the Habs game at that time.

That will send a clear message.....and that's what i'm gonna do anyway:laugh:

Same as Leafs fans have been doing for decades. Come to accept that were hopeless.

Except that Leafs fans are now seeing real improvements in their team, as well as a lot of hot prospects, and liking it since they have something positive to look forward to ...

http://news.nationalpost.com/sports...-the-toronto-maple-leafs-despite-their-record

It's been shown before in sport surveys many times. A treadmill team like the Habs are, doing nothing and going nowhere gets fans bored and disgruntled, but a team that falls to the bottom and starts rebuilding keeps fans and gets fan approval.

The Habs right now are doing nothing, absolutely nothing, and show nothing but a hopeless scenario for the fans.

I know. I just said them cause they've been riding that treadmill for years. Shanahan and babs is a winning combo. Watch the leafs tear it up in a couple years.

Our main core guys are not 30 years old yet, with 2 of them (Gallagher and Galchenyuk) being only 21,22. While we don't have anyone with a 'superstar' label in the farm, we do have a few players who can and hopefully will develop into good players for us down the road (Hudon, Scherbak, McCarron, Lehkonen etc.). If we can land a top 5 pick in this years draft, well we're in an even better spot for the next few years.

In the meantime, I would try to sell some veterans for prospects, young players or picks. Depending on the cost, I would be trying very hard to acquire Jonathan Drouin.

In a very perfect world, I would:
- sell Markov, Plekanec, Desharnais, Gilbert etc..
- Acquire F Jonathan Drouin
- Land a top 5 pick in this years draft
- Do anything in my power to try and sign F Steven Stamkos if he gets to UFA.

That's how quick a team can turn around. We do have time with our main core.

Max Pacioretty - Steven Stamkos - (Auston Matthews, Patrick Laine, UFA, Prospect)
Jonathan Drouin - Alex Galchenyuk - Brendan Gallagher

Like I said, a very perfect world. Which is actually reasonable at the same time.

I've said it before, one or two good moves could put this team right back into contention. Hiring Boucher and signing Stamkos in the offseason would be a huge coup. Unfortunately we have the GM equivalent of Mr. Bean.

Keep watching or not, try to enjoy the games and stop taking it so damn seriously. It's not healthy.

I agree it's not healthy but neither is it to follow a team that loses all the time because it's just depressing. I still watch the games win or lose but at the same time I don't want to support this team the way they are playing.

Loudly cheer the leaf on Saturday seriously, a trend toward abandoning/dissing the brand would have traction and could make a difference at the levels required.

Don't buy tickets. The end.

Most Habs home tickets (almost all) are already sold though. Usual reactive boycott-style tactics don't work so well in this case. It has to be something social and mainstream media picks up on, like paper bags over the head but that's already been done.

Most of that crap doesn't actually matters unless the wallet gets hit, and you're not gonna hurt the wallet short term, so that's that

The guy who says he felt like an idiot will be there next year all excited to watch Auston Mathews centering the first line...

You're right about revenue being safe. But the brand is vulnerable now and should be the target of the sort of initiative/campaign this thread is looking for.

I'm really surprised that nobody thinks the fans have any power. I disagree completely...but the unfortunate part is that right now the fanbase is itself divided in 2. One half thinks the team is a contender and the other half thinks they on on the wrong track. Once the fans become united and start to BOO the living hell out of these guys for more than a couple of minutes at a time, things WILL change.

I've been a hab fan all my life but I live in Toronto...and the key difference over the years between Toronto and Montreal is that Montreal fans will NOT sit on their hands and be quiet when things aren't going well - they will definitely let you hear them. So the answer is to BOO when the team plays poorly...it has always been that way...and this ISN'T just a slump...this ISN'T just a poor stretch. Each time the crowd boos MB would feel it that much more.

If I saw Marc Bergevin at the grocery store I would boo him while he was lining up to pay.

Good points. I was thinking of what our lineup could look like in a 2 or 3 years and there's still hope. Tank this year and we could have
Laine- chucky - Gallagher
Patches - Mac - Boedker
Ghetto -? - carr

That looks pretty good and I didn't even include Scherbak or Hudon who could turn out to be good players. Just need another mid 6 center (eller maybe?) and this is a really well balanced forward group.

Defense is pretty good despite markovs decline. Should get better since Beaulieu, juulsen etc will only get better Price will still be in his prime (they better not rush him back to save MT). Get a hockey mind as a head coach (boucher) and a special teams specialist (Muller?) and this team could be a contender.

I no longer watch Habs games on TV (I stream, so they don't see the viewership), I no longer wear Habs shirts and hats and I no longer drink anything associated with Molson. I smack talk on every facebook post the team makes. Its dumb. Its fun. More fun that watching this sub-par team and the clowns that run it.

Maybe we could ALL unfollow their social media sites on the same day. I'm sure they would notice that.

We had the argument of a full-out rebuild vs. a simple retooling and how each way was viable to achieve a Cup run worthy team. I think the Habs are more primed for the latter, given how they don't like the idea of leaving potential playoff money on the table, during any year.

And about what we can do ... clearly not much.

Simple, everybody going to the games wear the opposition team's jersey. Leafs on Saturday, Columbus on Monday and Tuesday, and so on ...
