He is not in plans because I think the return on him is really high. If it is not then you keep him. We are in a good spot on this.

I’ve been talked into the Gustafsson hype train over the last week after thinking it made more sense to cash in on his trade value.

I guess I’d be happy either way, so I’m indifferent about Gustafsson’s future with the team.

Long shot is an exaggeration imo. He is so skilled that he has a legit chance.

There are other variables. Who might beat him as "more ready". I'd say Mitchell leads that pack as of now, no? He looks far more polished, and ready for the NHL. He's more mature physically, no?

What trades, if any are made, to free up spots? If there is 1 spot, it likely doesn't go to him, as there are others who are more ready, no?

Like I said, there are multiple variables to consider.

That's why it's a long-shot, IMO. Again. No need to rush him. Especially not if you plan on him being your anchor for the next decade back there.
