Needless penalties (puck over the glass, wrong shift, stupid slashing when the puck was nowhere around) plus the overall horrible 2nd period by the Czech team were the deciding points today. The 3rd period was looking OK but it was too late. Vrána was probably our worst forward, literally zero offensive impact. Hertl was a little bit better but nowhere near to meet the expectations. The sad thing is that our best player was Roman Červenka (37 y.o.) again. At least Blümel was looking good, definitely one of our better players.
My personal impression: The players were looking too much strategy-bound in the 1st and the majority of 2nd, which at the end resulted into a total collapse of any strategy as they were feeling they are losing ground and began to panic. Strategy is a good thing but still must be supplemented with intensity and the right dose of aggression.
