Basically yes. Though I believe the actually date is sometime in late April about 3 weeks into the season. What’s the deal with Vladdy Jr and the Jays holding his rights longer?
If he starts with the team from day one of the 2019 season its one scenario, but if he starts in May of 2019 they hold his rights for an entire extra season?

Almost a 3 WAR player last year in Asdrubal Cabrera gets a 1 year deal worth 3.5M with the Rangers. A bunch of bargains can still be had.
Combined -23 DRS last season.
Definitely polarizing in the field. Last year he was a bad 2B but somewhat sreviceable at SS and 3B (still below average). But it is his bat that can be an asset. Needs to put up 0.3-0.4 WAR to be worth it which is a good bet in my opinion considering he has done at least that in every season in his career and has been at least 1 WAR since 2010. Definitely some surplus value that can be had.
Averaging out DRS and UZR and pro-rating it per 1000 innings, Cabrera's -14 the last two years ranks him 48th out of 49 players who have played at least 500 innings at SS (and that -14 is a pretty enormous dropoff from Aledmys Diaz, who's 45th overall but vastly superior at just -7.8).
I think this is a really good signing for the Rangers and they should get pretty good returns on a cheap veteran utility player who they can likely flip at the deadline. But there's a reason he's played so little SS the last couple years: he's really terrible at it.
More to his value than just defense. Rangers say they will play him exclusively at 3B so they should see some value at him playing 3B over SS.
I love this graphic
Congrats to Doc, an iconic Toronto athlete. I hope he is the 2nd person to go in with the Blue Jays logo on the cap. I fully expect it, but stranger things have happened.
