I've watched Vinny quite a bit the last few years and I have to say I'm pretty optimistic about his new start. Depending on if he plays on the 1st line or 2nd line centre, I can see him potting 24-28 goals and 35+ assists. This is assuming he stays healthy.

Coming into last season, Vinny was a monster. He was right around a point per game until he got injured and his numbers suffered as a result of playing hurt. He was winning faceoffs, throwing big hits and generally leading by example. Even dropped the mitts a few times (as you Flyer fans know :P).

If things go well, Vinny will be playing bruising-Flyers hockey while putting up points. As a Habs fan, I can only say congratulations. You're lucky to have him.

when Gagne is re-signed this team will be complete!

Vinnie looks like a lean, mean, scoring machine. He's serious about kicking butt... :)

40 is a cool number for him...especially if he can pot 40 goals but as noted 30 seems his upper end threshold if he remains healthy. Looking forward to seeing him play though....been a long offseason!

All the nothingness that has been going on in hockey over the last few weeks (months?), I have pretty much forgotten that we signed Vinny. Add this to my "list of things I am excited to see this season."

I think he plays 70-74 games and can get here:

29 goals + 34 assists = 63 pts

I'd be okay with this.

edit:
I think if he plays a FULL 82 games, numbers will look like: 33 g + 39 a = 72pts

if hes healthy Ill be happy with 25 goals and 30-35 assists.
people need to tone down the expectations.

John Leclair numbers. lirl

LIRL? Laugh in real life?

what's wrong with LOL- Laugh out loud? It's one less letter and far more recognizable...

On topic: I predict 30-30-60 if he plays a full season. And with better defense than Briere could provide

I really think that with Read he's going to do tremendous. Hopefully they find chemistry quick. That second line would be dynamite.

I am usually a person around here with a little bit more of a skeptical outlook when it comes to our own players, but I really think VL could do some serious damage on this team. I'm not talking MVP numbers or anything, nor am I predicting this, but 70+ points would not surprise me one bit.

Yea, I don't think you can compare the two in the least.

Not really comparing them..just commenting on the tendency of people judging potential performance solely by looks or feelings....pretty meaningless for the most part. Kind of like Bryz looking svelt and proclaiming himself skinny and ready....didn't mean crapola as we learned.
