Somewhere nice
I don't see any benefit of sending Heinola to the Moose.

It more of the sliding the contract.

What does the waiver wires pick ups and Bitteto have over Heinola?

Experience???
Toughtest ???
Good in the room???
Better defensively???

It’s about development for Heinola long term regardless of the team.

He'll get a lot more playing time. Which is always better when developing a young player.

Not all that dissapointed as I felt like this was the likely outcome all along.

Look forward to seeing him in the WJC

Staying with the Moose would not have kept him from the WJC. AHL players go there all the time.

Moose are a development team and development is what he needs.

Well now, looks like Niku is now the top Finnish Moose D man!

I often wonder if all this moving around from team to team is ever the best course of action for a young player. Stability seems to be an important part of development and you don't get that by playing in 3 different leagues in the same year.

Agreed but these young Europeans with out clauses almost always exercise them to go back home.

Figured that this result is what was most likely.

There was no mention of an out clause. Jets assigned him to Luuko. There has been no mention of him having an out clause AFAIK. Haven't seen even a peep about that. This is Jets decision.

Right call, with Heinola the Moose have 10D on roster, 6 of which need to develop. They had an alternative develop option for one of them and they took it which will be better for all 6 of them.

Also lets him get home and settled before the WJC where I expect Ville to excel.
