That is the scary part. Weird kitchen cuts can pretty much cripple a hand if tendons are involved. I've seen it happen to a buddy, although I'm sure Rask has a much better medical team.

You can take the tips of your fingers off pretty good on a V-slicer, my dad has had multiple fairly gruesome injuries and he said doing that was the most scared he’s ever been.

Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today that center Victor Rask today underwent surgery on his right fourth and fifth fingers.

Yeah definitely not good. The only positive, if you can call it that, is that it’s the 4th and 5th fingers. A bad cut on the opposite side could be a lot more devestating. I’d rather damage stuff in the pinky than the thumb/pointer area.
