Not sure if this should be rumor or speculation, but Dan Rice is reporting that NJ and Vegas have a deal for Gusev. Gusev to NJ for a 2020 3rd rounder and 2021 2nd rounder from NJ.

Rice is a reputable source for signings and whatnot, but can't speak for him breaking trades.

Vegas should get more if they gave NJ permission to work out a contract first and it is a sign and trade (or trade and sign?)

Great low-risk, high-reward play for the Devils who probably needed to supplement their existing forward core with another top-level offensive threat. If Schneider can continue his good play from the end of last year and Subban rebounds in a new environment (yes, the shelf-life on PK is fairly short in any one but I'm betting first year in a new place he's going to bring his A-game) then you can start to take the Devils seriously as a team that could make some noise.

And not bad for the Golden Knights to pick up a couple of extra solid picks for a guy who was going to face a very uphill climb to make his mark on a team loaded with good top-6 talent.
