Sounds like they are going to roll the dice with Samsonov and Vanecek. I could see them picking up a cheap veteran goalie off waivers before the season starts depending on who is available.

Samsonov is really talented but really fell off as the season went on last year. He needs to refine his game, be less aggressive and be better positionally.

Sharks aren’t retaining on Jones. Not going to move him this year either. He either bounces back and we make the playoffs or he sucks and we get first overall

Being fair. He played a back up goalie schedule. He got the games that gave him the best chance for success and he delivered. The Caps gave him a couple of starting goalie starts including national tv against the Penguins and it didnt go so well. From there forward it was all Holtby. He's a kid. I am sure he needs a lot of growing yet
