This is how BAD goaltending kills a team.

It can take a team from dangerous contender to first round exit.

Their D has been just as embarrassing with the opportunities they've given up. Their recipe for success was right there for them in game 1. They didn't give up many opportunities. The first thing they did in this game was give up a high quality chance that they buried. Fact is the Sharks didn't show up on time and when they do that they chase the game and play extremely loose defensively. That doesn't work regardless of your goaltending.

Other teams give up just as many scoring chances, if not more but the difference is their goaltenders bail their team out.

They don't give up these types of chances to this degree not in the playoffs. How many has Vegas given up in this game? It's nowhere near that amount.

You can't expect a team to do that on a consistent basis game after game, its not possible. Sure theres defensive lapses in this game, but that is bound to happen, a team is bound to have those types of games, 3 out of the 5 goals scored in this game are completely on the goalies,
5 goals on 20 shots is absolutely horrendous no matter how bad the team in front of you is playing especially because this is not some fluke game for our goalies.

This looks identical to about 988 of my posts going back to October.

If this team is the reason the goalies are bad, why do Ottawa's goalies have a better save percentage? Ottawa was the worst defensive team in the league

AND they had a 37 year old lead their team in games played for goalies and yet he was still better than Jones.

Anders Nilsson played better there (in a small sample size albeit) than Dell has played since his rookie season.

Actually, I can expect them to do what they did in that game because it is entirely sustainable and they didn't have every opportunity turn into goals. They still had a half dozen quality opportunities and most of them were stopped.
