this is Rapel's first time playing in a game with the Titans, he's the only Titans player that didn't play for RunAway before the Aquillinis purchased the entire roster. Rapel played for Element Mystic, one of RunAway's rival teams but was picked up as a backup, he's talented at both Lucio and Zenyatta so he can cover for Slime and Twilight if necessary

Slime with the guaranteed wins, Stage 1 looks like a 2 horse race between New York Excelsior and the Titans

We see the Titans play Paris Eternal Fri Mar 8 at 5:30 and the Chengdu Hunters Mar 10 at 4:30, stick around to get a feel for the Hunters as they play in the next match vs the Shanghai Dragons

As a noob it seems like Jjanu is just hard smurfing

Jjanu gets a lot of the credit for the big flashy bombs but Bumper and Slime are so good at enabling him. For many of the Jjanukes we've seen this season, the accompanying earth shatter or Lucio boop have been vital.

Against the Shock a few weeks ago, Slime used Lucio's ability to bounce people around to move the giant Reinhart shield so that Jjanu's bomb connected with the supports.

Feel bad for Agilities, I’m a big fan. The Titans look f***ing dominant. Slime is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Bumper was always. Twilight is so good too. Everyone is just playing their role to perfection. They’re combos are so clean, the ult economy and tracking is so good. This meta is great for them. Looked like they were just screwing around on the last map.

I heard they changed the patch or something?
Something about more DPS less tanks is that good or bad for the titans?

Also, when is playoffs? I heard it's soon which is rather surprising.

Also I’m assuming you’re talking about this?

Overwatch PTR patch notes for February 26 - Baptiste now live along with major balancing updates | Dexerto.com - Esports & Gaming

A ton to unpack there. Will definitely read it again when I have time. I will say this current meta is really good for the Titans.

some heroes were updated but they play on the old model of the game until the next stage

there are 5 stages and each one has it's own playoff, I think the winner of each stage playoff gets into the final tournament, but don't quote me on that.

I'll have match day notes in a few minutes

Alright team, here we go again, the Titans are taking on the Paris Eternal tonight and they're sitting at #1 in the PAC division with the best MD% in the league. Paris is sitting at #9, one spot outside of the stage 1 playoffs so they'll be hungry for a win. That being said, all 4 maps are maps that the Titans have performed very well on so we could see an exciting match.

- First off, the Eternal lineup is another team stacked with great players who are under performing. It's based on the star-studded team Rogue from the old Contenders format and the team translated to the powerful French national team, where the entirety of Rogue was based. SoOn, BenBest and NiCOgdh were all big players in the French national scene, they added the best DPS player from the Russian national team, ShaDowBurn as well as Kruise, an elite support from the UK national team.

- The opening map of the match will be Ilios, we saw Jjanu's overtime heroics here against the Charge in week 2, the Eternal have had a win here though against the London Spitfire, last year's grand finals champions.

- Numbani is a map that the Eternal have done well at but the Titans have yet to play on. Numbani, a hybrid map, would tend to favour the 3/3 meta that has a similar feel to King's Row, a map that the Titans have been dominant on this year, a shocking 100% winrate on hybrid maps.

- Last week, we saw the Titans crush the Valiant on H:LC, a map that the Eternal hasn't seen yet, but the Titans are so dominant here, these middle two maps will be key for their win today, a second map type that the Titans have a 100% winrate on.

- Finally, we see Rialto, the map that the Titans threw last week against the Valiant, they had some fun and didn't win but the match wasn't close. The Titans are 1/4 on escort maps this season.

- This could be a very tough matchup for Paris, but they need to start clawing out wins. After the Titans game, the Eternal have 3 more matches and 2 of them are against good teams, they'll need to beat some of them as they have a very good lineup which is capable of making some noise in the playoffs.

Kruise, BenBest, SoOn, Hyp, Nico and Finnsi is the likely starting lineup for Paris, I can't imagine the Titans swap from the usual Bumper, Jjanu, Haksal, Slime, Twilight Seominsoo.

Also worth noting, team Canada crushed team France in last year's Overwatch World Cup quarterfinals, they lost to China in the semifinals on the way to a bronze finish, a good followup to the 2017 world cup's silver medal team which had Canada's main tank xQc win the player of the tournament, he's super toxic but he's probably the best main tank outside of South Korea.

Essentially the devs are going after the Goats meta with an cleaver. Pretty significant nerf to Lucio's speedboost (with a nudge to balance his personal movement ability) and a decent nerf to Zen's discord orb

Wait xQc is actually that good?
That's hilarious, I kind of like the guy when I have watched him. He's really dumb though, but funny.

yeah, he's stupid good, tilts out of control and is likely out of competitive practice but he's an incredible main tank, check out team Canada's world cup games to see him and Surefour basically carry Canada

@Rowlet Curious, with the nerfs coming to the GOATS meta, do you think that Runaway/Titans can adapt quickly if the meta shifts at all?

it depends how things shake out and how fast the OWL implements the new patch, last season we saw the league run on an older model for a while.

Before they were the Titans, Runaway was able to win the Korean league championships in the standard 2/2/2 with the same lineup so they may not be a dominating force but they're likely still a good team at minimum.

Isn't Stitch their McRee player?

Everyone needs to be able to flex onto different heroes, Stitch is a better McCree but leading with Seominsoo means that you can play 3/3 or 2/2/2 where Stitch can't play tank.

Do the Titans have the best tanks? Jjanu/Bumper?

maybe not the best but top tier for sure, Bumper is a top 3 main tank, Jjanu likely a top 5 Diva, Seominsoo is a good Zarya but Seominsoo's best attribute is his ability to flex onto a DPS hero if needed.
