I'm a little confused by this one. Is this to back up DiPietro, or insurance in the case Vancouver can't afford Markstrom and decide to hand the reigns to Demko this offseason?

This is obviously a clear win. Domingue is better than McIntyre.

It's probably just extra depth in case both goalies get hurt? Domingue is a UFA this summer so it can't really mean anything past that.

This is a kick in the nuts for both the pro-tank and pro-playoffs group. We get no return for him, Benning legitimately gets an out if they miss the playoffs and we likely miss the playoffs.

Jeff Paterson on Twitter implied it may be related to him getting run over in the Minnesota game. I missed that game and I don't know if that's true or not. Seems implausible but also wtf happened then
