Why don't they just stick him on the wing on some line and feed him a tonne of PP time? Probably helps their powerplay and helps him adjust while getting his value higher. This guy could potentially fetch more than James Neal considering he has two years on his contract instead of one.

Well I guess that’s the last European FA in LV for a while

Its the agent that are the problems, how the heck can you allow you client to sign for someone like McPhee?

The guy takes a huge pay cut to go and play in the NHL. If you aren't sure that you will play him -- don't sign him. Its not rocket science. There is no X factor. Scout the player before signing him.

What the f*** happened? Did he play so poorly in 3 games that he had to be sent down? One would think he would get more than 3 games to prove himselg considering how McPhee handled things from the get go? Also, if the signing was always meant as a trade bait one would think they need to play him more.

There is no contract between NHL and KHL. So #1 is wrong

Had to look it up, but you're the one who is wrong:

http://www.tsn.ca/ska-shipachyov-can-t-negotiate-with-khl-1.897945

"At the moment, Vadim is under a two-year contract with the Club of the National Hockey League," SKA announced, per KHL Insider Aivis Kalnins.
"Between the KHL and NHL there is an agreement which forces both leagues to respect each other's contracts, so now no legal preconditions for the return of Shipachyov in Russia does not exist.
"Shipachyov has valid NHL contract with the Club, the KHL clubs do not have the right to negotiate with either the player or his agent. This applies to both the SKA and other League clubs - taking into account the fact that in the KHL Shipachyov is an unrestricted free agent."

I am hopeful but really doubt GMGM terminates his contract, so he's stuck in the A for now.

Obviously people are overrated him in here. He was given a chance to find a trade, instead he decides not to go to the AHL. Tells me that his agent tried and no one wants him. Him throwing a fit has crushed his chance of a trade as well. Teams aren't going to want a guy who pouts.

This is the NHL, you suck it up and quietly do things. Not lets start a fit after week one of the NHL season.

Reminds me of the Garrison thread where so many thought he was a legit player, yet no one took him for free.

Equilibrium will be restored eventually; apart from this fiasco, as much as the Knights are a feel-good story, their pace is unprecedented and unsustainable.
Sure, but at the same time they are getting results right now. Obviously Gallant saw flaws in his game and wanted him to work on them. He refused and now we are where we are.

He probably had to go down play 2 weeks in the AHL and come up. He could've looked like a hero when he came back up instead he is burning his bridge with most NHL teams if not all.

Unsustainable how? Advanced stats or just because you think so.

He was treated absolutely unfair. He was promised a top 6 role when he was signed, then thrown out of the team because they had too many d men. Finally called up to play 10 minutes a game with some low level grinders, he still scored a goal and was +3.

He’s a 30 years old proven veteran who just dominated the World Championships, he’s not made to play the grind style of hockey Vegas is preaching right now. He needs to play with skilled offensive players to blossom.

Look at Dadonov who’s over PPG playing alongside some skilled players. Shipachev is better than Dadonov, that’s all there’s to say.

Unfair or not he could've been an asset if he would've shut up.

And until I see someone actually put up numbers they aren't better than anyone. WE have seen this time and time again, where a guy comes in and can't cut it on the North American ice.

And why did he sign with an expansion team that was going to have very little to no skilled players if that's what he needs to blossom?

Agreed - they seem to have done somewhat well with that Nikita guy. ;)

Must be living in the Twilight Zone because in no other alternate universe is Cody Eakin a #1 C and higher on the depth chart than Shipachyov.

lmao

Kucherov, Namestnikov, Sergachev, Vasilevskiy... they could use another!

Unsustainable how? Advanced stats or just because you think so.

1) James Neal is on pace for 63 goals and 91 points, and is shooting 32%
2) Oscar Dansk is leading the league in SV% at .959. All 3 goalies that played for them this year are in the top 20 (Subban .936 Fleury .925)
3) Nate Schmidt and Luca Sbisa are on pace for 55 points
4) It's a small sample size, and hockey has a large amount of luck involved in short term results
5) They have been outworking teams. This effort level cannot be sustained over 82 games, relative to competition.
6) They do not have the offensive depth to overcome slumps by their few real offensive threats
