Thats crazy that we're in position where people actually want cousins lol

Bringing Gasol back would be plan A for me, but looks like LA will get him.

Possibly a trade involving Norm?

Maybe if they feel like this is Powell's last year and they don't like any of the starting center UFA options. I imagine they get at least one center from the UFA to come off the bench and somewhat replace one of Ibaka/Gasol alongside Boucher (i.e. Biyombo).

Also depends if they like their existing options (McCaw, Davis, Thomas, Harris, etc.) enough to replace Powell, or they think the market for Powell replacements is better than Ibaka/Gasol replacements. Ujiri likes to find underrated guys so maybe he has his eyes on some more cheap talent to replace Powell or even a guy like Stanley Johnson if that opens up any kind of flexibility. There should be some spots for guys in the back-half of the roster so maybe they will resort to more of a "committee" approach to open up the money for a better starting center.

They don't have many contracts for next year.

Siakim, VanVleet and a player option for Powell is the only guranteed money at this point.
Supposed to be a great draft next year though. Getting a lottery pick would be valuable, or even a mid teen selection.

Feels like the Raptors are letting a bit of air out of the tires as contenders. Is this just economic reality under the cap, Toronto continuing to not be a destination or some other kind of complacency setting in?

It's gonna be an off year folks. Get the books in order to make a big play for Giannis.

Do your work, Danforth.

Feels like a pretty high risk play. If that doesn’t pan out do the Raptors have a Plan B, or is it going to be a full on rebuild?

Loved what Gasol did for us in the Championship year but we aren’t championship contenders so no need to bring him back unless you want him as a trade chip for the deadline.

Find a better center or roll with Boucher and Hernandez and see what you have in them.

Im still holding out hope that the Clippers want to do a sign and trade for Ibaka and they send us Mfiondu Kabengele.

Kabengele is a centre. His parents are from Congo. Born in Toronto. 1st round pick last year Mutombo’s nephew. 3 more years on his rookie deal.

They lost Ibaka and Gasol, and they may even be bringing Gasol back for all we know. It's hardly the end of the world. They are clearly going to make some kind of move to add to their center group, if not two moves, so it seems a little bit premature to judge them when they are not even close to done yet.

I feel like we're putting all of our eggs into the getting Giannis next year basket. So hopefully we do.

The Raptors will still be a really good team with FVV, OG, Siakim as key members. Next years class is also more than just Giannis.

Do the Clippers even need to do a sign-and-trade? The Lakers might for Gasol if they can't dump McGee.

The Clippers do not as Ibaka is basically there MLE

That was basically my point. There really is no incentive for them to want to do a sign-and-trade and giving up a good young asset unless they are planning on using the MLE on someone else (which is possible I guess).
