Trade him!!!
Three reasons why:

1. get a 1st or a 2nd and decent prospect
2. Canucks will lose MORE games without Edler... that means a higher 1st round pick. What looks like 10th overall might drop down to 6th (ish).
3. you can always try to resign him in the summer!! give him a playoff run and a shot at a cup and tell him that we'll re-sign him in the summer.

Highly unlikely this happens, especially since he's still out with a concussion.

Both sides have shown interest in Edler staying in Vancouver in a mentor/shelter role.

He's already skating . Hopefully the concussion wasnt at severe as it looked.

No it doesn't.

Injury prone, slowing d-man aren't worth a 1st!

I know this is what HFBoard fans think. But he's a top 2 D on the Vancouver. The conversation will start with a 1st and be adds on that. He might be a 3/4 guy on any other team. But he's not. The injury prone won't move the needle when they're gambling for three months. They don't care if he's injured next year. They only are gambling that he stays healthy for the next three months. Which is what you're doing with a rental anyways.

I would be shocked if Edler waives. But he's literally the only piece besides (Bo, Boeser, Pettersson & Tanev) that would net a legit 1st Rd pick, late or not.

If you don't like the player, no prob. But a rental is a rental. And a top line, player being sold will net a 1st to a contender.

Edler controls everything with his NMC so it's not that easy.

He has also stated that family is #1 priority and that he wont put 'cup chasing' above them.

Unless he can prove he can stay healthy, he's def not worth much more than that!

Not a single team will hand out a 1st for a d-man who's going to play 1 game out of 2 due ton injuries

Lol he misses like 10-15 games a season. That's like 15% of the season. Not that big of a deal considering he logs big minutes and puts up ~0.5PPG.

Late 1st round pick or prospect equivalent, otherwise no deal.

And with that, and the injury, he probably won’t be traded. Too bad for the Canucks, the defensive pool isn’t very good and I think the return could be pretty decent.

He's just not worth a 1st round pick.

Again, See the Petry deal we made a couple years ago.

To Pittsburgh for their 1st.

Really though...Dim won’t trade him. He’s said as much. He likes him to mentor his younger players and said that bringing back a UFA you trade rarely works out.

Edler is going nowhere...and not just because he doesn’t want to...because Dim doesn’t want to lose him.

Lol what do you think you're getting for a glass body rental?
Lmao this “Glass body rental” has never scored less than 20 points in a year in his career despite missed games. He’s a rental, meaning he’s needed for 3 months. He EASILY nets a 1st+. Don’t wanna play that? Cool, don’t bash a player you know nothing about.

Well you came to a thread that is reporting that there is a major interest from GMs for Edler. Supply and demand.

Anything can happen in a. Bidding war.

Glass body rental past his best by date no matter what used car salesman spin you use. Dude continues to be one of the hilariously overvalued players by a hf fanbase .
