Unpopular opinion: Regular season hockey is better than playoff hockey?

As great as playoff hockey is, holy **** do they still need to call penalties.

This is the only part about Playoff hockey that sucks is that they let blatant penalties go uncalled. Then, they seem to randomly call something that they let go all game long..

Not unpopular at all. It's the best round because there are so many games. I watched a decent chuck of all 5 last night, it can't be beat.

As for the OP, it's just a nonsensical opinion. Hockey was built for the playoffs. Tension is what makes the game so incredible, how the playoffs puts everyone on pins and needles. I couldn't care less about creativity, I'd rather watch a 1-0 playoff game where every second is nerve wracking than a 5-4 game in December that doesn't mean anything but 2 points.

I don't think there's a lot of debate there. 5 hours of intense hockey a night, with teams (relatively) fresh and everyone full of hope.

By the SCF, teams are gassed, tired, and are basically like boxers in the 15th round. But legends aren't made in the 1st round - they're made in the finals.

Playoff hockey is all about bounces and luck. People like it more because it's intense, but it's certainly less skillful and creative. I agree with you. I think playoffs in all sports are dumb.
