Only thing I can think of is now feeling a little desperate for young talent with the Bergeron/Krejci era coming close to an end, where as not so much back then idk. But it’s not like they needed this kid, not really gonna make or break them, definitely not worth this mess.

Thing is, I don't think we're THAT desperate for talent. Other teams were gonna sign this kid. I'd rather them take the chance than ours. Its not worth it. Definitely not with our core. Our team. Our values. Our high profile team and city.

We didn't need this mess. At all. This is overshadowing our incredible team and it's unfortunate.
