It was a bad stoppage, but I was impressed by Askren's recovery, he was already on his way to dominate the fight, and I honestly think Lawler would have eventually passed out from that choke.

Horrible stoppage, you don't expect that from a guy like Herb Dean but oh well.

You don't? Herb is notoriously known for early stoppages. Every time I see him reffing a big fight I get annoyed.

I wish they would just give Big John all the money and have him ref every fight. I'm sure he's not perfect either, but he's clearly the best there is.

Bad stoppage Herb. Lawler would have knocked fatty out

Bad stoppage is right, but how was the knockout going to happen? Askren survived the initial onslaught and started to get to work.

I tend to agree. Askren was able to get ahold of him rather easily twice. Robbie slammed him the first time, but that's more difficult to do as you get more tired. Still, you'd like to give Lawler the chance.

I'd like to see Usman win. A cool story, and he seems like a good dude.

I like Rogan, but it annoys me that everybody is always the best ever. Woodley is great, but he's not anywhere close to being the best WW ever. At least not yet. That is very clearly GSP.

I was thinking that as well. Woodley is a great champion, but he needs to hold on to the belt for several more years to bridge that gap with GSP imo.

At least when he says it later tonight about Jones, he's probably right

I rewatched Woodley’s KO of Koscheck recently. One of the more violent and satisfying knockouts ever.

Woodly's only chance in this fight is his right hand, Usman seems like a more dominant fighter.

1-0 Usman.

Usman appears to have the wrestling advantage so far. Woodley needs to let them go. Good advice from his corner.

Strong first round for Usman. Woodley looks like he’s slowing down already

Usman seems like the upgraded version of Woodley. 2.0 if you will.

I have never seen someone slam Woodley to the ground like that. Very impressive.
