He was the perfect fit for the 4th line. Kinda sounds like we won't be seeing him in the playoffs.

Rooney is, at least, a decent replacement but he better bring his motor if he wants to hope to replace what Motte brings. That’s a blow to us - guys like Motte chip in the big timely playoff goals, everyone knows that.

And on even strength situations, his speed eliminated a lot of point shot attempts because he covered so much ground. Forced the point man to shoot wide or throw it back to the boards.

Motte was an outstanding pickup at the deadline. He is going to be sorely missed. He is better than any of Hunt, Mckegg, Rooney, Reaves, Gauthier, etc...

Not a fighter. 6 NHL Seasons w/out 1 single major. Not his thing however, he was arguably the best 4th liner this club has had in decades. This is a big loss.
