How is the TV series, Mad Men?

Highly recommended, but taken as a whole, it's not the social commentary that it initially presents as, but later seasons meander existentially and ponder identity. Very cleverly using the changing times to signify the characters' own changes.

Also, it's lowkey very very funny, though the laughs are sparsely inserted.

I heard Lighthouse was equally good

It is!
but it may not be a quarantine kind of movie.

Holy hell you can say that again!

-Flight of the Conchords

Perfect for curbing anxiety and malaise!

Some shows I would highly recommend (mostly police type shows):
The Wire
The Shield
Monk
The Closer/Major Crimes
Bosch
Breaking Bad
Babylon 5

and if you want to watch something silly:
Fawlty Towers - best comedy I've seen
Sledge Hammer - so stupid, it's funny
Samurai Pizza Cats - one of my guilty pleasures...

Agreed with @macmaroon Fawlty Towers all time best comedy.

I almost feel like I’m living through the early episodes of Fear the Walking Dead with the hoarding, mass panic, government closing stuff down. No zombies of course. If you’ve got Amazon Prime it’s worth a watch. Good series although I thought season one and two watching S hit the fan were the best seasons.

There are series that overall were ok, but had some exceptional seasons in them.

Dexter, overall a really good series with some soso seasons, and some exceptional seasons. S1 and 2 were off the hook good!

Homeland overall decent show but season 1 and 2 were excellent, fast paced.

Weeds, started off with a bang but ended on a dud. Seasons 1 and 2 were hilarious and worth watching.

Silicon Valley solid, really enjoyed the first 3 seasons.

I really loved Homeland

Recently caught up on a few of the last Oscar-related movies:
-1917
-Parasite
-Joker
-Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
I’d give 5/5 stars to each one. All were great in their own regard. Oscar for Parasite was well deserved imo, and that says a lot with this kind of competition.
I heard Lighthouse was equally good, but it may not be a quarantine kind of movie..

Series suggestions for simple fun:
-Parks and Rec, yes!
-Flight of the Conchords
-Northern Exposure. This would be my go-to series for a quarantine situation. I keep the box-set at home just in case. Simple times. Guilty pleasure. :)
-It’s the end of the f**** world
-Bojack. Horseman, obviously. No, wait, I said simple fun... this one gets very dark and depressing... but in a good way I guess. :dunno:
Northern Exposure is my all time favourite show!

-The Boys one season so far and is great.
-Taboo (not sure where to get it actually)
-What we Do in the shadows. (both the movie and the tv series are great)
- Deadwood and Rome (both amazing series that HBO murdered too soon)

I’m re-watching my 2010 Vancouver Olympics Hockey DVDs.

Other than sports:
I’ve been watching a lot of Beavis and Butthead. Those guys are hilarious.

I’ve also been meaning to watch Married With Children, Miami Vice, How I Met Your Mother and Magnum, P.I. So perhaps I’ll start on one of those.

Of course, I could start to chomp into my Netflix lists bit.

If you're a fan of British humour and / or have any background in government / bureaucracy I'd put Yes Minister! and Yes Prime Minister! on the shortlist. If you're not picky about quality you can get a few samples on Dailymotion.

Taboo is fantastic.
I don't think there are many avenues to watch it legally though.

Peaky blinders (bbc) on netflix is an excellent binge. One of the better series on it. Based on the era after WW1 when all the vets come home and is based around the Shelby family who become kingpins in Birmingham and expand from there. Excellent acting and a gritty show.

Also the Witcher was really good if your into a fantasy type series.
