I refuse to get on board with Berube while he dresses plug vs teams with no HW.

McGinn talbot Rinaldo at least has a chance to score.

ill-assembled team to play 60 mins of hockey! Like I said Berube can skate them and try to make them think quicker but eventually they just can't sustain the intensity b/c of the type of players we have......might as well switch out their skates for dutch clogs...

That might help Simmonds, every time he gets the puck all he does is tumble around until he doesn't have the puck.

It's time for a trade too. Time for certain people for realise this cosy little club isn't guaranteed. I'd trade Hartnell for anything we can get, that contract terrifies me.

Points can lie. Simmonds is also offering this team absolutely nothing. Berube ought to throw a steak between him and Hartnell and bury the loser.

It's just really silly to single out any one player when quite literally the only deserving player of praise is Steve Mason. Lecavalier was deserving of some prior to turning into an ECHL player in the last 30 minutes.

Putting that aside, Simmonds is essentially a much younger version of Hartnell and it's not like the rest of the team isn't playing badly and it's just Simmonds and Hartnell. They all ****ing suck.

Then we have wastes of space like Rosehill in the lineup.

Simmonds is fine if he doesnt handle the puck. Unfortunately, you need to do that in hockey.

He's pretty much a PP specialist and maybe a guy you can saddle with two elite even strength players and just sit him in front. Otherwise he's a liability.

Hartnell has sucked no doubt, but he's more useful when both are at their best

I wonder if it would be possible to trade Hartnell Mez and a prospect/pick for someone who can play LW on the 1st line... Raffl is decent but he shouldn't be on the 1st line. Let him take Hartnells spot on the 2nd line.

Harts cap hit and ntc makes him close to untraceable, Simmer has value. We all choose Simmer over Harts, but that ain't an option sadly.

Anyone remember that interview with Jake from a few weeks back about how they tighten up in the third and play not to lose instead of to win? It reminded me exactly of what he said. In the 3rd they looked frightened with the puck on their stick. They were afraid they would make a mistake if they had the puck and sat back.

I'm on board for a trade at this point.

Something related to the goal scoring needs to be done. And as it has been said, having both Hartnell and Simmonds seems irrelevant, especially when Hartnell isn't doing anything.

They play pretty similar games and even when they're both at their best they both put up similar production. 25 to 30 G, 50 to 60 P. That's about the best we can ever reasonably expect from both.

Might as well take the younger one on the better contract. It's not like either provide anything outside of garbage goal scoring for the most part.

This loss was tough to watch...
Hate to say it, but Hartnell is awful. timonen was ugly to watch either.
Sometime Hartnells skating/balancing on ice looked like hes an beer league player, atrocious.

Still begs the question why you're all focusing solely on those two.

Literally everyone outside of Steve Mason isn't performing up to expectations. Nearly all of our forwards aren't putting up expected offensive production, Timonen looks like he belongs in a geriatric ward at this point, it seems like either Grossmann or Coburn destroys everything good they do with a horrible pass straight to the opposition every game, etc. Then there's Jay Rosehill.

Outside of Rosehill, Hartnell is the worst F on the team with Simmonds a close second right now. I only saw the 3rd period and the first time I notice Hartnell, he does a dumb pass to the middle of the ice where 3 Ducks players are.:help:

I think Hartnell is better without the puck, and has a better shot

That and he's untradable and Simmonds might have some value left. Maybe he can be flipped for a similarly struggling player that's more of a finesse guy. Who that is, I don't know

I will say, Voracek looks back to normal. Great game he had tonight. I think its about time he is put back with Giroux.

No, then we will run into the same problem as last year.... we will be a 1 line team.

If giroux can't carry a line then maybe he should be moved to wing.

who do we package for the sedins?

Are you serious? Why the **** would we trade for the Sedins?

If teams were made of two players only, the long-term plan didn't matter, cap hits didn't exist, and we had a training camp for them then sure I'd support it.
