So we get the better players in this trade. That should be good enough to get us safely into that 9th spot.

Honestly that 9th spot was going to happen regardless - this just gives the team a slightly better chance of actually squeaking in.
I don't mind what they did today. We improved (albeit ever so slightly) and gave up nothing.
No picks were wasted which is a great relief.
No picks added either.
But I think Brad is still a top 5 Gm. Because ya know, stuff
I think the issue goes above and beyond Brad.
Yes - we should have sold - but we all know what the mandate is from the top.
If the rumour from cp was true Brad had the autonomy to sell.
It doesn’t really matter. Management does not have the ability to put this team over the top.
probably should have done what the Capitals did and trim the fat for picks
If you don't believe in the management team (which I think is a more than fair opinion), then isn't it a good thing they didn't make and large moves? Leave that for the summer where a potentially new group can come in and make those decisions.
Lewis????
The Flames also (apparently) had ownership's approval to shop next year's free agents, and retain salary to boot. They had UFA's of value to trade off. We didn't.
