Anything besides future consideration or ahl fodder is a joke. Not that he's not a good player, but why tf do we need him

So we get the better players in this trade. That should be good enough to get us safely into that 9th spot.

Honestly that 9th spot was going to happen regardless - this just gives the team a slightly better chance of actually squeaking in.

I don't mind what they did today. We improved (albeit ever so slightly) and gave up nothing.

No picks were wasted which is a great relief.

No picks added either.

But I think Brad is still a top 5 Gm. Because ya know, stuff

This is the kind of move that makes sure you don't get into the play-offs while keeping the pick you will get as bad as possible!

Typical Flames thinking

I think the issue goes above and beyond Brad.

Yes - we should have sold - but we all know what the mandate is from the top.

If the rumour from cp was true Brad had the autonomy to sell.

It doesn’t really matter. Management does not have the ability to put this team over the top.

If you don't believe in the management team (which I think is a more than fair opinion), then isn't it a good thing they didn't make and large moves? Leave that for the summer where a potentially new group can come in and make those decisions.

This team will have 2m in cap space to fill 4 roster spots.

Someone is probably being moved regardless and it’ll likely be for a discount. Selling off one of our top 9 pieces or top 6d wouldn’t have been major moves from prudent asset management. This team isn’t capable of that however.
