Karl Eriksson
Boring!
Not liking the optics of all this.
Stone leaves the game and Boucher says in the post-game presser than "it looks like a disaster right now".
Turns out, all three guys make the trip, including the guy we thought had a concussion.
As for the play itself, if Stone didn't say down, no one would have been calling for a major penalty. The hit was poorly timed but Trouba did not elbow him and his arm was tucked in. The principal point of contact was the head, but it wasn't vicious and it didn't look like he had an intent to injure. If Stone got up, everyone would have been satisfied with a 2 min penalty for contact with the head.
I love the Sens and Stone is my favourite player, but this doesn't look great on them. I am being objective when I say that if Stone really isn't hurt (and the NHL wouldn't cite it if there was any doubt about it) then the Sens look like a team fishing for a suspension.
My guess is that Stone had a neck injury at the beginning of the year and he probably tweaked it again. When he went down, it almost looked like a whiplash type of thing. When he got up today and ran his tests, the Sens had to be truthful to the league about a concussion. Stone probably has a really sore neck but that's it.
You are just weaving together a bunch of conjecture. No one knows his condition.
