I know. I was about to add that the habs already have that kind of D. But somehow it didn't work for us as espected. I think a change of scenery could work for Mete. Or patience. He doesn't hurt our team, he is part of the depth players.
He's played 3 games and he's looked better than half the squad already, yes patience.

Domi has been regulated to fourth line duties in Columbus and is barely cracking 12 minutes of ice time a game.
Head coach John Tortorella spoke about Domi's struggles recently and he's not too impressed with his play.
“It’s a concern,” Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said. “I’m sure it’s a concern of Max’s, too.
“I do think he’s beginning to move his legs more. That’s been more evident as we’ve played, but it’s been tough sledding offensively for him. On top of that, he’s still learning the defensive part of the game, how we play it.”

Unlike when he was in Montreal and demoted to the fourth line and said he didn't understand why, Domi is taking responsibility this time around.
“I just have to find a way to start producing,” Domi said. “It’s as simple as that. It’s a much different system here. Different teammates, different coach, different city. It’s all different. But you have to find a way.
“If you’re a pro hockey player, you’ve seen most (systems), so you should be able to adapt pretty quickly. I’ve played some left wing, some right wing, some center, so just getting a better understanding of how to produce while playing within the system that (coach John Tortorella) wants us to do.
“It’s up to the individual to figure it out. You still have to skate, still have to p

Pretty sure Montreal was very different from Arizona yet he found a way. Good thing he’s super happy to be there and feel wanted. Great to hear. ;)

If Nashville goes full rebuild and looks at moving Josi, I would be all over that.

Suzuki
KK

Josi - Weber
Romanov - Petry

Habs will need a 4th line veteran faceoff specialist at the deadline. Could Glendenning be a target?

Or we just keep Evans who cost nothing and will learn and will benefits at long term.

It's Evans' spot till around deadline time, but we'll need veteran C depth and better FO results if we want to go deep into the playoffs. If nothing else, there will be injuries.

Trading Danault for NHL ready prospect and bringing in Getzlaf would be best for this team in the present as well as the domino effect it will have on allowing Suzuki & KK to continue progression curve going forward IMO.

If Getzlaf (for whatever reason) is unattainable I’d look at Eric Staal - another vet who’s won, natural C with size who can help offload pressure from the two young Cs, again a question of whether Staal would waive for Mtl.

Habs went after him in 2016 summer, prior to him signing w Minny - rumored to not wanting to play in CDN market...

I only do that if we can get a player that is both good at faceoffs and better than Evans.

He'd be a good fit anywhere.

Suzuki + Romanov + 2021 1st is probably the only competitive offer we could make, though.

I don't agree. Who else is going to give someone as good as Suzuki ? No need to add Romanov either.

Suzuku/Kotkaniemi (Their pick, obviously we hope they grab KK)
Drouin or Tatar need to be included for cap.
Guhle/Norlinder/Brook/struble/Harris (Their pick)
Byron for cap.

Gotta drop Julien though, need someone that will play Jack 20 minutes a night. He'd be the best forward have had since Lafleur. Thats no Dubois BS.

In your dreams , more like this
Suzuki
Danault (resigned)
Drouin
Caufield
Guhle
2 x 1st rounders

eichel is a top 10 player in the league and arguably only mcdavid, Matthews, Mackinnon and draisaitl have more value

No one is going to cripple their team like that, this is playstation worthy. Not a single trade has ever looked like this. Even Gretzky and Lindros didn't get that kind of return.

This isn’t a crippling trade. Notice how you are upgrading Suzuki for eichel (and it’s a massive upgrade) . Tossing out drouin for cap and Danault who is leaving anyway. The rest are futures which we are capable of giving up
